There are groups of people/races which I find generally unattractive. I can still see myself falling in love with a woman in these groups if the right one comes around but I really don't want my children to look like them. I want to look at my kids and think they are cute and beautiful, not ugly. I am just not willing to have kids I find ugly and this keeps me from dating these groups of people.... at least for now.

You bring up a good point but it wont necessarily be like that. Anywayz to get to the point of having kids I have to get over what I already stated... which probably wont happen. My bro and sis both have kids who are half white and I'm kinda the last hope for the family to have asian looking kids. And I've always pictured my kids as being asian so most likely I will marry one.

i agree with samnang on the british part, most i've seen on films r not that attractive but who knows but really to me i wouldn't mind dating other ethnicity, they have to be in the same lifestyle as me not to ghetto, thats my part

2. culture and mannerisms

these are two examples i can think of why race or ethnicity is important. it means the same background as you has a better chance with those 2 items. however if you have a partner of a diff background and these two things are fine it doesnt really matter i guess. it seems pretty logical to me. out of a group of girls i dont know, id pick the most similar to my background as the best chance of working out. so for me it would be overseas hker (i prefer fluency in both canto and english), hker, overseas chinese (i know most of these are hker too, but they are like, pre-hk Jin, kinda white wash, but not really?), chinese, east asian, asian, etc.

Good luck with that theory.

I'd say, if your handsome and the mother ugly then good chance:
Sons = Handsome
Daughters = Ugly

U know what, good on you. Sometimes, race does matter. In the grand scheme of things, perhaps not, it's down to the person. but if you want to marry within your own race because of similar traditions, family backgrounds, views, lifestyles, mutual understanding, etc then who's to judge and say you're being "discriminating" by not giving other races a chance?

When I was younger, I was never that into Chinese guys, but now I think they're great. Sometimes, going through personal experiences dictate whether certain groups of people will work for you or damage you. Does that mean I'm being hypocritical and discriminating? If I was to meet a guy knowingly that he's Chinese, I'd probably get a bit more hopeful than if I was going out to meet some American. Everybody has pre-conceptions about groups of people. Or something like that.

Studies show that many people in relationships mainly like to stick to their own.. due to the fact that they can relate to their own childhood, family problems and lifestyle. I am not saying they won't work out but it is more likely that it will end up in disaster most of the time due to cultural issues. :/ But I am a positive person and I do believe that you should date people outside of your own race and see if you do like them and maybe be able to work with all the other issues that will come up.

I don't know why our generation feel so pressured to date outside of their race. My mentality is that the basic parts of men are the same in all races. If that's the case, I can find what I need within my own group of men, just as easily as within another.

That having been said, it doesn't mean I discriminate and have never dated other races of dudes before, but I don't really go looking either.

It's funny but a lot of people tend to believe that not caring about skin color means they have to date EVERYBODY. But if you REALLY don't care about skin color isn't okay to like your own race too? Lol!

I am more compatible with Asiatic women. At the same time, I find Asiatic women to be more attractive.

for us Asians, besides just race, cultural differences matter a lot. Case in point, Japanese and Koreans are very close genetically but the majority of both sides are against inter-marriage between members of these two countries.

So, if you combine a different culture and a different skin color, that really makes the situation difficult.
