It's a slang for Saigon. Seriously you must be so "quê" if you don't know what xigon means. But I don't blame lychy since he doesn't know much about Vietnam. He once asked what do Viet girls look like lmao.

And of course I live in the states, but I was raised in Vietnam.
@fireplant: It's not. You just take advantage of the similar notation. For once the "G" you guys use in Mandarin is actually the "C" in Vietnamese alphabet, not the G. Your "X" doesn't sound like Viet "X", Mandarin X is kind of closer to Vietnamese S (English Sh), but not really the same. Your "o" is actually "ô" or "u" in Viet, not "o". The tones are also way different. Of course if you just look at the letters and not sound everything out, they will look similar but when everything is sound out, they're not.
So to write 西贡 (Tây Cống in Sino-Vietnamese) in Vietnamese would be Si Cung, Xigon is far from it.
