Not yet personally. This was a performance in Europe. The same ballet was performed in Long Beach like 2 years ago.
The crowns are called Mongkot, but more common is Mokot (or M'kot).

^Yea according to my dance, teacher she told me something like that about wearing mongkut. Its part of a costume to either show your royalty or either if you're acting as one of the gods, or an angel you're representing immorality.

Hey Nita, did anyone ever tell you that you resemble Piseth Pelika? She was a dancer too.

This to look like Ramakeang a goods Thai .

You mean Ramakian (or Ramakerti/Reamker in Khmer)? This is actually a different story. And besides..there are no demons in this one story.

So beautiful. It's amazing how similar the khmer and thai classical dances are. I was told that these dances were originally from the early Angkok court, that were later adapted into Siamese dances and have been improved and remain what we see today in Thailand.
To outsiders, they look the same. But can you distinguish between the two? i.e. is there something that a professional would be able to tell a visitor this is specific to khmer and that to thai? I know that the Lao also has a version of these dances that one can see mostly in the old royal capital luang prabang, although the king and queen are no longer there.

It's quite easy for me to distinguish the two. One thing that has always been different is the way they wear the flowers: the rose and the phuong (or phuang).
Khmer dancers:
Female: Rose on the right ear, phuong on the left ear.
Male: Rose on the left ear, phuong on the right ear.
Traditionally it's suppose to be a rose, but I notice that Khmer dancers are starting to use a champei (plumeria) now, especially apsara dancers.
Thai dancers:
Female: Rose and Phuong on the left ear.
Male: Rose and Phuong on the right ear.

It is very simple to tell apart from khmer and Thai. Such as the episode of the Ramayana. The khmer gesture and body movement is much more smoother to go along well with the pinpeat music. While thai dance movement are still very awkward. Their music and their dance doesn't mingle togthers compare to khmer court dance.

^where have you been jotmaimamoreaj? anyways, i agree with you about thai court dancing. their movement does not go well with the court music. their movement isn't in rythm with the music.

khmai interpret ramayana way better than thai.
khmai hand gesture and foot movement is so smooth. as for thai, its so stiff and kind of robotic.
