Well I live in Lake Jackson which is right outside of Houston but it is just much easier to say I live in Houston. I'm sort of glad I don't though so I won't be in the most polluted city in the U.S.

Aww... Houston's not that bad.. I didn't even get any allergies living there. Well, except for 1 week when I found out I was somehow allergic to those lil white flowers, but when I messed wit them agen, I wuz fine, so yeah..

Iowa's just pretty plane. It's not as flat as everybody makes it out to be, but there's not really tall hills or anything either. I think the biggest city is Cedar Rapids, and I doubt anybody has even heard abt it. It's really boring. And cold. And windy. Not good combos for me. lol
Random Fact: Des Moines (Iowa's capitol) means "of the Monks" in French..

As I recall, there was a dispute over where to settle the capital. The compromise suggested was that Philadelphia be the nation's capital for 10 (or was it 20?) years and then it would permanently be located in an area between Maryland and Pennslyvania.

Well,

Is it cold in Beijing? How Cold? It is about 28 Degree celsius here in Philippines!
Your English is quite good! Our time zone is almost the same so we might be celebrating "new year's " day on the same time zone!
Do you celebrate "Western New Year"? in Beijing?

Xiexie, wo ye zhu yi xinnian kuaile, wanshi ruyi.
It's very cold in Beijing, around 0 degrees celcius and maybe even colder. I know for a fact right now it's about 25 degrees faraheit, and that's cold! It's too bad that it hasn't snowed during my stay in Beijing. 28 degrees celcius sounds quite warm right now.
Actually I don't live in Beijing. I'm actually from the U.S.
Yeah, they celebrate "Western" New Year here, but it's not nearly as big as Chinese or Lunar New Year

It's too bad I'll be back in the U.S. by then.
Not that you asked, but they also celebrate Christmas here! It's quite popular especially among the youth. However, it's mostly for commercial reasons and not religious ones, which fits my personal taste because I'm not particularly fond of the Christian religion (though I was baptized once) but that's for another topic.

Well,
Here in the country ,We started to celebrate Christmas,New year with great fervor and a lot of noise and fire crackers!Huh
Just like A heavily Chinese influenced culture, Fire crackers are said to drive away bad spirits and bad luck! But several thousands of people got amputated afterwards! guess from what? Fire cracker related stuffs like drinking while lightning a firecacker etc.................
Lots of foods around, 12 fruits, jumping, tossing coins, wearning new clothes, polka dots t-shirts etc..... the lists goes on.........................
