Anyone knows where I can watch these movies, or maybe download or watch online? I'm especially interested in watching the full movie Lala's Gun, very beautiful scenery and picturesque. Looks like a cultural documentary from National Geographic, just beautiful and peaceful.

The movie paj nyiag txoj hmoo looks good as well. Just been wondering what happens to the girl in the end. I hope she doesn't turn to violence and massacre the mean family.
bioshock
Yeah, Lala's Gun is a very beautiful movie, I cried at the end...love the grandmother...great movie, one of my favorites. beerchug.gif

I've seen Journey to the Fallen Skies, nice that they did something different but I was kinda disappointed, idk, was expecting more out of it after all the hype but great soundtrack...very original.

I haven't seen Paj Nyiag Txoj Hmoo...looks beautiful like always just like all the other Moua Lee films...but I kinda heard some disappointing reviews about...something about it being such a pro-Christian film and all...not much of a love story for us ladies to follow... embarassedlaugh.gif

here's two more, don't know if they're posted yet by txoomsuab, sorry if they are...

Paj Ntaub ~ The Rose Cloth ...god their Hmonglish is so URGH!

It's a Christian movie? So, no violence? I would guess it'll have something like forgiveness and redemption it it. Could be good. The trailer shows the girl meeting up with somebody so there's a chance that it could be a lite love story.

Your signature seems to entail a movie into itself, very amusing and provocative. It reminds me of this clip:

(I'm glad you went away with the guy flipping fingers at your face. I could'nt read your posts previously because it's so distracting. Now there is a little less distraction but better? A mean angry bear is still cuddly? Not sure what to say.)

This one looks like it has a pretty decent budget haha

Haha, funny clip there, crazy fishing guy and bear... embarassedlaugh.gif lol, my signature is from the Indian Panda Cheese commerical...that panda's really got some real anger management, starting beef with pretty much anyone...idk, I like weird and amusing stuff. Ingenious advertisement!!! Love it. It's from here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGhyM7tpBTs

Hmm, haven't seen the movie but it looks like there's a little violence towards the end of that trailer plus that was her father who was cussing and abusing her and her mom there...
here's the synopsis if ya wanna know more about:

A powerful, moving, and inspiring love story...

Paj Nyiag was not the "son" her abusive and unloving father wanted. Her ailing mother added more burden and created and excuse for him to marry a second wife. As a result, he divorced her mother and abandoned Paj Nyiag. Sorrow and the emotional fracture of abandonment takes its toll when her mother passed away. Now she is at the mercy of her uncaring aunt and uncle. Facing life with tears and a broken heart, she asks why God would give her such an awful fate.
source: http://www.pajnyiag.com/?mv=synopsis

Basically, she finds God though this lover boy of hers and through him she learns to live better and forgive...lots of Christian themes in the movie from what I heard...might check it out one of these days...the filmmaker Moua Lee is supposedly one of the best and a forerunner of Hmong cinema. Kinda a fan of his work...pretty good job considering what little resources he has...

hey gardenslave,
Ya got any good Vietnamese movie suggestions...haven't seen any...just a some clips from Clash and the Rebel. Johnny Tri Nguyen is awesome especially with Tony Jaa. Yeah, seems like Viet movies are really improving in the past recent years, getting more provocative and interesting, lol... biggthumpup.gif

really, you think my signatures are distracting? LOL...huh, maybe I should stop with the animated gifs and just go for something more beautiful and calming like your garden painting...hey, nice idea...i'll try it when i get tired of never say no to panda beerchug.gif
gardenslave
Thank god your signature was taken from that Panda Cheese commercial. I was starting to think that you created that clip to represent your repressed anger at somebody or something. Characterizing a cuddly bear to go berserk on someone is really ingenious; no matter how unbecoming the bear gets, he's still lovable because he looks cute, kind of like a baby getting away with murder. Your signature is something unique of you so it's like a mental picture of your head (I think....and you like to smash things....I think...right?); so whatever you have is very interesting. Don't be afraid to be weird, it brings out the true character in you. But, the guy flipping fingers at your face has got to go. I was reading something about men eating feet and I was really interested in eating pigs feet, but then I saw a guy constantly waving and shoving fingers at my face I couldn't read anything else.

Yeah, I'm glad I fooled you into thinking that my signature was a painting. My scamming artistry is outstanding beyond reproach. That was just a photoshopped picture of a little something that I have. I'm still working on it. It evolves from time to time. I'm in the picture if you can find where I am.

There's a few good Vietnamese movies out there. If you like a love story then there is Passport to Love. It's a romantic comedy of a playboy turned legit and a legit boy gone wrong. I heard some ladies say that there're a few hot hunks in there so that could interest you; I wouldn't know (I'm just a guy). Well, I don't want to spam the Hmong forum with Vietnamese movies so I'll just give you a few that I think is good: The White Silk Dress, Journey of the Fall, Three Seasons, Spirits, Scent of the Green Papaya, Indochine, The Lover. Let me know if you want to watch any those so I'll find one with subtitles for you.
bioshock
Yes, I would love to smash many things in life...but I also have lots of self-restraint...actually it's very rare that I go berserk and smash things...only in my brain would I do that unless I'm very ticked off, lol...then ya don't wanna be in a 10 mile radius of me...an angry girl can do lots of damage...

Haha, the guy flipping his finger at you disturbed you that much? That's pretty funny...idk, I just liked that one cuz Jim Carrey is hilarious and typing like that reminds of some of the people here in AF...typing like maniacs sometimes, especially over very heated topics, lol. Wow, ya read really weird stuff...men eating feet? Human or just pig feet? Yum, hungry for pig feet are you...pig feet is okay...not much meat there though, lol. Yeah, sorry my signatures have been distracting you so much, so ya like mine more now? It's innocent but still a little distracting right...watcha think?

Yeah, man, ya got mad photoshopping skills...really thought that was a watercolor artwork or something. Hmm...guess your signature does really represent you...in your case I CAN'T FIND YOU IN THAT PIC...too small...perhaps if ya have the original big version...but I'm guessing you're working in your beautiful garden...since you love gardening so much! Ah, are you towards the middle of the painting?! Do tell!

Oh yeah...I actually have The White SIlk Dress on DVD...almost forgot that! Yeah, really good movie...liked the relationship between the two little sitsters and what the mother did for her family in order for them to survive, wow! Really shows how much Viet women and girls cherish their white ao dai's! The fleeing people from the war was awesome too.

Hey thanks a lot for the awesome Viet movie suggestions...I'm sure I can find English subtitles...they all look so good! biggthumpup.gif
gardenslave
As long as you smash things in a good manner then I think it is fine, like smashing someone's head for instance. I always love to buy one of those air-inflatable baseball bat and smash my brother's head with it. But restraining yourself from smashing things could be cool also; I think it'll make you calm, turns you into a vegetarian, learn peace and happiness, and pulls your mind into outer space (isn't that where you're from?). (Isn't that a description of a Buddhist? Hey! I discover new things everyday. I'm very proud of myself.)

No, I was reading something you posted about 'men eating feet' and I was going to respond that it tastes good but Jim Carey was trying something over my face and I got delirious. I needed some rest after that. Well, your new signature of bears jump-roping is king of tame, peaceful and kind of girly. I guess it's appropriate for whatever mood you're in at the moment. So, if you are relaxing in your garden having a lovely cup of ice tea it's very relaxing to count bears jump-rope, kind of like counting sheeps in your dreams. idk...whatever you have is very interesting.

My painting used to be fullscale but I reduced the height down so that people don't have to scroll too much when they read my posts. I'm very efficient and thoughtful (other words for being a cheap bastard). I'm that dark black area on the left, kind of like a hunchback cowering and slaving over his garden. Nah...., I'm just relaxing and dreaming in a trance-mode with the back-set of my garden.

Didn't know Gran Torino was an Hmong movie. Looks good. Gotta watch that.
bioshock
I was j/k...Gran Torino isn't a Hmong movie...just features lots of Hmong actors, lol. Only good thing was Clint Eastwood and the car. Yup, Buddhism is an awesome religion...very accepting and calming...I wanna be a Buddhist in my next life...

Oh, that post...that was when Miss Txoomsuab2 was ranting in Hmong about the Asian men of AF and how they complained about how Western media falsely portrays them and how Asian women are backstabbers cuz they go for men of other race, mainly white dudes, she was just giving her opinion, being an Asian female herself, and how she felt like those Asian men wrongly categorized all Asian women as being like that. She just gave the Hmong insult of saying that those men deserved to eat feet, meaning having smelly feet shoved down their throat so they would shuddap for once...haha, the insult sounds a lot cooler in Hmong. embarassedlaugh.gif

It's ok though, I'm sure if I went into Viet chat...you guys probably have tons of Viet slang and insults that I wouldn't understand, especially if you guys were typing in Vietnamese. Wow, gardenslave, you're a really funny guy! Haha, I tried shoving half my foot into my mouth once, on a dare from a friend...most of them were grossed out but it was kinda funny! I was surprised I could get my feet up that high toward my mouth...ew, that sounds nasty! LOL. badteeth.gif

Oh, cool beans...yup I see ya in that picture! Again amazing skills ya got...really looks like masterpiece artwork, lol. Ya really love gardening dontcha? Lol.

Ahh, I can see why people are upset about that. The men feels left out with something taken from them. The women feels like a piece of property with their independence intruded upon. But all in all, they are just leaving their emotions and thoughts out there. In the end, people go their own little ways wherever life takes them. To me, by showing their emotions they are leaving their mark and making the world richer; so I find it very entertaining to experience whatever they have to say, good or bad; it's like watching a movie. (Oh please, someone slap me. I'm rambling on while daydreaming.)

Talking about eating feet, my little niece likes to suck on her toes for some time. I guess it's because of the salt and spices from the foot sweat and whatever you stepped on? Am I enticing you guys too much there? My sister has to rub pepper on my niece's toes to make it taste bad so she can stop. I guess sucking your one toes is fine, better than sucking on someone else's toes. You know, I could reach my toes with my mouth, so I'm not going to say that I did the same thing as Ms. bioshock but it's tempting though. I think for now I think I'll just stay with the pigs feet and beer.

I'm not an avid gardener like you think. It's the arrangement of the garden that is my main focus with some relaxing and beer time in between.
bioshock
^ totally agree with you gardenslave.

Yes, enticing us too much there, lol...your niece sounds cute but hopefully she can stop that habit soon! Yup, forget I even told that embarrassing story and stick to your delicious pigs feet and beer. Oh, understand now...you like to visually landscape your garden. Cool. Gardening is handwork...I'm not an avid gardener too but at least you get out and enjoy the weather and beautiful mother nature. biggthumpup.gif
