Project Reason is a 501©(3) nonprofit foundation devoted to spreading scientific knowledge and secular values in society. The foundation draws on the talents of prominent and creative thinkers in a wide range of disciplines to encourage critical thinking and erode the influence of dogmatism, superstition, and bigotry in our world.

Hey, it wasn't a slight on you.
You are a man and you get angry.
You also have pride and greed and love and lust and all those other things a man has ...
You should check it out ... the forum has many people like you who want to talk about Buddhism.
Maybe it can help you???

I refuse to be controlled by emotions, lust, love, greed, arrogance, and selfishness. So I figure out why I get angry everyday. This is my practice. I now know nothing about Buddhism.

Again playing the fool ... when will you realize that no matter where you go or what character you play,
you will always be there ... you can't lie to yourself.
You can pretend to be anything you like
And I will play along if it will make you happy.
But, it would be better if you stop playing and start practicing meditation, now.

Who is self? embarassedlaugh.gif.

Sitting and facing the wall is no good. You want liberation you have to detach yourself first from the things that hold you prisoned. What are the things that hold you prisoned? embarassedlaugh.gif before you can even talk about meditation.

Ask yourself now .. who is playing the imitation Zen Buddhist master now??
You talk about things you have no idea about. Your reading books and eating soup don't cover this.
Are you really going to continue playing games or will you start your true learning??
It is a shame you throw away your chance to learn the real truth.

For a deluded lay man, Buddhhadharma to him is just another attachement. If you are not deluded, everything to you is Buddhadharma. embarassedlaugh.gif

i hold my truths based on actual observable experiences just like those people in the project-reason.org.

GW may hold other's truths as his own Buddhism, there's a bit of that in science, if we don't have that element of faith based on the construction of other's established facts, how can you get on the plane and fly across the continents?

i hope other's truths can help him calm his anger and quit his obsession to be your guru master... biggthumpup.gif

I'm sorry to have jump to such conclusion about other people in that forum.
But, if you have watched GW then you noticed that he plays games and doesn't want his true nature to be seen.
First he pretends to know nothing but read books and eat soup. Then he pretends to be an imitation Zen master.
Then, he is drinking tea. He holds his pride high in his chest. Buddhism or rather his Buddhism can't be argued or discussed
otherwise his world breaks down. When that happened with another member, he attacked him with false allegations.
I don't trust people who hide behind the worlds of others or of noble monks. I present myself as I am and expect others to do the same. Hold your one finger up and he will hold two fingers up. The truth can't be reached this way.

And, as you know, I'm still on a path and still looking for a teacher to help me reach across ... if I'm deem fit and ready.
It isn't about wanting to be right. It is about wanting the truth. How do I see the truth behind the words quoted???
Is what you are presenting ... the part of you that is real or just something you want yourself to be like???

I so tire of pretenders like GW who just started reading books and think they understand it all.
There are monks who have spent their entire life learning about Buddhism ... and they don't spout crap like GW.
I'm sorry but GenlteWind is just hot air.

Big mistake! You want to learn? I will teach you.

Let's start with the practice. Follow my instructions! There are 6 easy steps:

1. Get out of the forum.
2. Sit comfortably.
3. Listen to some music.
4. If you are a smoker, lit a cigarette!
5. Take a glass of whiskey or wine (unfortunately, rakia is not available in your country).
6. Now, drink from the glass.

Cheers!

Do you feel better now?

I know Europeans love smoking.

To read any page of Chutzpah’s posts is to witness the full catastrophe of public self-deception. She rages and rages about the anger and intolerance of others; she accuses her opponents of being “muddle thick headed, full of flatulence” in prose so bloated with emotion and insult, and so barren of argument, that every post reads like a hoax text meant to embarrass the humanities. A person with this little self-awareness should be given a mirror—or an intervention—never a forum to hot-air her rants.
