LOL. That's the perfect analogy for the US, China, Taiwan triangle. It's like a sellout Asian female who wants to stay with her White "knight" but the Asian guy wants her back.
orange peel
^ that's a pretty pathetic analogy i must say

But I think you're being inaccurate, even in its weakest state the KMT refused US bases and advisors in Taiwan , I respect that. can't say the same for some other countries *roll eyes*

It is natural for nations with common values to love one another.

However I know what kind of feelings you want to incite among Taiwanese men. I'm sorry to tell you that it doesn't work that way. Ideally it should work, that I understand. But this method is kinda ancient. Taiwan's is not a medieval society where the issue of individual mating is escalated to national survival.

To further explain, an average Taiwanese man would find your picture rather inconspicuous, but find the following pictures amusing. Robots, legs, harlem.

You're positive feelings for KMT made you say things that you wish were true. True, many 2nd Gen Chinese in Taiwan are anti-American. But you can't assume too much just because they have a bit of an identity/loyalty issue, which is common for a lot of 2nd-gen Chinese immigrants anyway.

You see, in reality, KMT or post-49 ROC government haven't had the status to refuse nor demand for US bases and advisors. It is an agent of US military. US shipped them to Formosa.

The new American Institute in Taiwan, currently under construction, is a 65,000 meter square compound in Neihou, Taipei city. The lease is 99 years.

^ to the best of my knowledge the AIT serves as what would be otherwise an embassy if the United States and Taiwan had formal relations.

if this is true then you're being terribly misleading.

And secondly I'm not sure how it is that you feel you're qualified to call other people's opinions "identity issue".

Taiwan is sovereign Chinese territory.

America must not interfere in the Chinese Civil War.

CCP has won the mainland, and Taiwan is just a small obstable to Chinese reunification and the resolution of the Chinese civil war.

Foreign barbarians beware, we will sink your carriers, shoot down your satilletes, shut down your nation's electrical grid, and shoot ballastic nuclear MIRV off Los Angelos if you dare to intervene in the Chinese civil war.

We must ensure barbarians give China the proper respect it deserves as the world's leading superpower of the 21st century.

1. Misleading? Sorry.. Did I misled you into believing that it is an embassy, or that it isn't an embassy? Is it? or is it not?

2. I did not call your opinions "identity issue". You mentioned that KMT refused US bases and advisors. I couldn't understand why you thought that was possible at all, unless you derived this conclusion from the anti-US sentiment exhibited by this group.

The pictures showed that, in the past US had military advisor groups in Formosa. AIT's new site suggests that the current AIT site is no longer sufficient to carry out future tasks.

I find it amussing how hardcore TIers are always so free in using the term Formosa. If they can't be Japanese, they rather be Dutch. LOL. Identity issues for sure. sad. Just sad.

//Oh yeah, stop trying to claim Hokien or whatever as "Taiwanese". Its one thing to be ashamed of your heritage, but another in trying to hijack parts of our language, writing culture etc. you are pathetic.

The reason why White/Japanese/whatever people love Taiwan is because there seems to be a lot of @$$ kissing self-haters on that island. I don't know, must be something with the water or the soil to breed such scum to the chinese nation. I have some relatives there still, but the ones that have long moved away are nothing like those you meet online or the fresh FOBs who would do anything before admitting their Chinese ancestry. I remember back in my high school days, there was this new Taiwanese girl who would not even use the word "China" to describe the location of Taiwan on a map.

When asked: "where is Taiwan"".
She would reply something along the lines of: "Draw a line from Japan to the Philipines and Taiwan is somewhere on that line ".
Person who asked: "where?"

Geez! Its beyond these people to say: "Of the eastern seabaord of China"!

Heavan forbid they get associated with China or something.

Oh yes, being nice to foreigners as they visit must equate to kissing @$$, oh how barbaric of them to be nice people.
According to that girl's description, she wasn't exactly incorrect... There's more than one way to describe a location. Not using China in her description doesn't really mean anything.

The fundamental difference, you see, is that terms like "Sina" and "China" are names the world uses to describe what we know as "Zhong Guo". There is nothing to be done about it, it is out of our hands. "Taiwan" on the other hand is the universially known name attached to a province of the PRC/ROC. Only TIers, like yourself, would refer to Taiwan as "Formosa". Hence my post about the map drawing girl and my disdain for your ilk.

duh. As we're speaking and writing in English, it is quite right to use "China" in a sentence instead of "zhong duo".
Similarly it is okay to call it "Japan" in an English context. Insisting on Nippon or Nihon in an English forum is stupid.
And who says i must stop calling it Korea and start calling it Hanguk, in English!!

Gosh you're so sina-centric even as you try to use English. Why don't you go lecture a German about Deutschland vs. Germany?

As a Taiwanese I the Formosa naturally and properly. FYI go back and check how I used it. I can tell you that your b!tching means nothing to any Taiwanese at all.

Sorry dude...those pics are made by Westerners. The term "Formosa" was also made by Portuguese Colonists. In contrast, "Taiwan" has been a native Taiwanese term of aboriginal origin. I can't never understand the mentality of TIs who in one hand screaming for independence, while prefer to use a colonial name such as "Formosa" to call her own motherland......I suppose you TIers just can't lose up you colonial slave mentality, can you?

Being a fascist Chinese, you do not even qualify for a proper argument about this topic. And that is why you're not getting any from me. Most of my answers were provided to the other Chinese earlier and he was a pleasant guy to talk to. You, on the other hand just want to troll. Whether you like it or not it is too late for you to add anything to the topic.

But since you're on the verge of going hysterical, should you not stop using one of white people's languages and go play kung-fu with your Chinese buddies? Watch Jacky Chen struggle in English and blame him for trying to go Hollywood and failing. Go buy a one-way ticket to China and sniff out every single white, male ESL teacher and make your ideology a reality.
