look at how few Indian Christians there are

There are some 30 million Christians in India, according to secular sources. Kerala, Goa, and northeast India all have sizeable Christian populations.

So while I also am not Christian, and I feel it is unfortunate that so many Asians have converted to Christianity --

I would dispute that there are not many South Asian Christians.


So it's in no way a East&Southeast Asian vs. South Asian thing, in my opinion.

Colonization was pan-Asian, so don't blame the E/SE Asians (particularly SE like Vietnamese and Filipinos) either!

In general I think colonization is why there are so many Asian Christians. Most of Asia was colonized, not just South Asia. Even where there was no official colonization, the West had a lot of economic power. So the conversion didn't happen entirely by choice ... There was economic benefit to it.

Then the converted Christians in Asia passed their religion on to following generations that moved to the States.


In general, I am pretty sure that most East and Southeast Asian-Americans, just like most South Asian-Americans, are not Christian. But the Christians are very visible because they are evangelical.

Hinduism and Buddhism are in the top 5 religions in the world. They do not promote their religion or force people to convert. They do no put fear into people to make them convert.

now you have to bleieve a certain belief just to be asian? man i thought asia at least started slowly getting out of the dark ages of intolerance a few decades ago. this kinda thinking keeps us behind.

And they don't instigate wars claiming their god told them to. And they don't attack or oppress those with differing opinions. And they're not represented by hippocrites who loudly proclaim some of the tenets of their religion while at the same time, breaking many other tenets. I agree. Most people that goes into the "religion" section are non-christian that arent open minded at all. All they do is "those damn christians, white washed, stupid religion, falsehood." So stfu. Jesus is whatever skin color you want him to be. He never walked this earth. Maybe in bible world, but not this world.

He walks and lives in the minds that believe in him.

Jesus is frickin Asian (Hebrews are techinically Asians). And there are independent Christian churches that are from Asia, eg Church of Christ and that Moon guy's church.

At this meeting a number of scripts and writings were put together and a heated controversy ensued over a period of several months. Many writings were considered, discussed, argued over, and reviewed. Some were revised, some were rewritten, some were rejected. The final package that emerged from the Council of Nicaea was what was called the New Testament, a contradictory, demented conglomeration of far-out nonsense.

To it was patched the Jewish Old Testament. The Christian movement now had a Bible, with Constantine as final arbiter. Constantine exercised the full powers of his position,financially, militarily and in terms of legal enforcement to now promote Christianity and crush all opposition. Christianity was now on its way.

I am a Roman Catholic-Indian. I don't see how following Christianity makes you worse or less of an Asian?

The funny thing is, Christianity is a Middle Eastern religion, not a European one. So virtually all Europeans are sell-outs for converting from Paganism to Christianity.
