P1.2 M marijuana plants burned in Maguindanao

Authorities razed marijuana plants worth P1.2 million in Matanog town, Maguindanao, DZMM reported Wednesday.


Police and operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) raided a hectare of marijuana plantation in Sitio Pangtoon in Barangay Sabat.


Reports reaching Camp Crame said some 600,000 fully grown marijuana plants were uprooted and burned in the field.


Two men who were suspected of cultivating the marijuana plants eluded arrest. They were only identified as Ali and Saro.


Authorities recovered three sacks of dried marijuana inside a shack in the plantation.

i remember i use to watch those "destroying teh contraband" by pinoy authorities, where they light up whole hectares of lands, and the funniest part is the officials stand by the "burning" as if smoking with it. like a big @$$ bowl.

That is good news, At least the government is doing something to stop illegal drugs.
