Is Michiko Yamamoto a Mako? a Fil-j@p?

She's great! She wrote the movie "Magnifico." It won several interneational awards. I watched the movie. LOL, it actually made me cry a bit. Great movie.

Yeah! I think many of them hyave somewhat assimilated to our society but I think there are more Fil-Chinese and Korean immigrants to take notice of them. I know i had a Fil-j@p classmate during high school and one school mate now in college

Before WWII Davao City was known as "Little Japan". At one time it was said to be the largest settlement of Japanese in Asia outside Japan.

i don't know about her, but she might just be a half filipino japanese person.

and for filipino korean outnumbering makos? i think makos had been in pi far longer than koreans, it's just that now that so called "korean wave" is much popular so people think that there are more koreans in phils. but there are so many makos, i guess still in phils, like chinoys, who are kinda blended in phils.

yes i've heard that most settlements, originally established as tokugawa trading posts, were in fact in the visayas and mindanao region.

i think it had to do with spanish control and animosity with the japanese after the tokugawa isolation and christian persecutions.

Some of these Japanese have intermarried with Filipinos
