this is quite hypocritical.....europeans claim they are the best thing to happen to Africa...yet that is their mindset

Are you saying Africans are immune to being "selfish" and having their own "interests"? Are they not human?

If you treat them like incapable, helpless victims how are they going to break the cycle of relying on "handouts"? If you treat them like equal business partners who have their own interests isn't that better in the long run?

At least Chinese people don't have a "God" mentality like westerners. They never underestimate Africans and don't think they should be treated like children. China treats Africa like any other business partner - be it Brazil or Russia and it is clearly improving their economy.

Most westerners don't worry too much about this. I know I don't. China has 1.3 billion mouths to feed. Why wouldn't they be doing lots of business in Africa? That's considerably more people than all of Europe and North America combined. Lots of countries do business in Africa. It is up to Africa to negotiate the best deals for itself and consider the future for its booming population.
