Does anybody know much about Spanish, Traditional Malay, Hispanized Chinese, Chinese lastname meanings that are common or even yours?
heart_leigh
My surname is Torres. A typical Spanish surname. Any Torres in the house?

Gosh, it's soo common. It means "turris" in Latin-a person who lived in or near a tower.

no. that's eheads/eraserheads' "Minsan". it's just cuz i was listening to my old cd's. hehe.

I know that Vasquez, I think came from Basque/Euskara (aboriginal/ethinic minority of northern spain). And deGuerra, came from soldiers. (Guerra=war)

I want to know what's up with the -co on most hispanized Chinese last names.

Co is probably a chinese family name.. just like in the case of Cojuanco. (Co Juan Co). lol theory though..

Hmmm, Villar that sounds like a Mexican surname,... I mean Spanish surname. embarassedlaugh.gif2
Couldn't really help you on what that means but maybe you can try this website

As for France I don't think that's Spanish, Malay or Chinese. Maybe it's French. embarassedlaugh.gif2
