If Laos is moving up higher on income. That mean we are doing the right thing. I don't see nothing wrong with that?

I think it is better then being poor or any lower income since you have to think about population growth too in the future. If you have a lot of poor or lower income it will create more problems financially and internal infrastructure development. Also Laos is a land lock nation so its must achieved more higher income to compete with its neighbors and living standards.

So it is better of keeping the poor at a low percentage as possible.

Why worried about other country when you can worried about our own people for better future and income among our own Laotian community? Laos is taking a right step towards better living and income like the rest of our neighbors. At least now Laos is catching up very fast forward then backwards. Reduction of poor around the country in Laos must be the first priority so everyone can be at the same level. Look at Thailand and Cambodia. Both country have more poor then their is wealth among their country because they started out low income class society while the population growth has push more low income class into poorer class and wealthier income class goes up a bit higher in the next generation. You see? poor are getting poorer and the rich getting richer which leave you many social problems within the country. Laos need to catch up with Thailand on its income common wealth. Since Laos has a small tiny population compare with Thailand,Cambodia,Vietnam and China it is logical enough to say that Laos is moving on a right track. If Laos can keep this up then we can compete with our neighbors at the same level. Also I have to agree with you about the U.S social issue. It will be a future problems and the common American people are starting to realized that they will fall into income fall out sooner then they expected. Not all jobs in the U.S are stable enough to support any American now a days. People are just getting poorer and poorer and so many housing fore-closer are on the rise!!
