Yep. Thais just loved selling land at huuge profits in a flood plain to Japanese industrial estates. And when the rains came no information which could have led to the relocation of stock and equipment from those estates was given to the japanese investors. All broadcasts were in Thai. Thai Jek, Military and police benefited as well as the japanese. But real Thais just provided the labour.

Now after the cold war and WW2 memmories and antagonism fading into distant memory in ASEAn japan can and will move new investment to other ASEAN nations away from Thailand. You don't know Thai at all. I doubt that you are Thai. Farang is NOT derogatory word. It's normal word like Kaek, Jin, Lao, Khamen, Bamar, Yuan, Yeepoon, Gaolee. These are normal cultural/ethnic names. Thais have been using these words hundred years!. But Jek is derogatory, it was created by the time that the word Jin already exist, to look down on Chinese. Normal Thais won't use Jek to address Chinese, Thais use Jin normally, use Luk Jin (son/daughter of Chinese) to call mixed Chinese-Thais.
