I also live in Long Beach Ca though, which has the most Khmer people outside Cambodia. And my aunt lives right in the middle of the Cambodian part of town, so I know a few.

Yes Hmong, or Miao, is an ethnic minority in China, most of them live in the Yunnan province. I've been to Yunnan, beautiful place. Miao isn't the only ethnic minority living in Yunnan. Other ethnic minorities living there include Dai, Bai, Buyi, Yi, Naxi... etc. There are a total of 24 ethnic minorities in Yunnan, making it the most diversed region of China.

Vietnamese "Swallowed" the Champa Kingdom. It was Thailand who annexed most of the Khmer Empire. Laos was given part of the Khmer Empire. Vietnam only got Kampuchea Krom, which was still Khmer land up until 1949.

EDIT: I also think Burma got the peninsula part of the Khmer Empire as well.
