are you some type of frigging idiot?

The japanese entertainment industry wouldn't even give him a chance because of his mixed blood. He made it big in Taiwan and HK first before the Japanese would give him a chance.

And he prefers his Japanese name because his father is Japanese and in asian tradition, your father's race determines what race you are.

No, there is no commercial reason for him chosing his Japanese name. He has done more HK movies than he has Japanese movies.

Don't forget to call yourself an idiot. I'm tired.

But look at BoA, Crystal K, Verbal of M-flo for example...

BoA, a full Korean, is huge in Japan and they accept her as she was their own.

Crystal K, pretty popular in Japan and there's not one but of Japanese blood in her. She's half Korean half Black.

Verbal, from M-Flo (very popular), is of Korean descent and he's accepted as well.

There are other Korean blooded Japanese stars out there but those 3 are the only ones I know so far.

Sonim?
kpjoon
^AH! SONIM! How could I have missed her -_-;
Adee
There's a singer called Youjeen. Some of you might heard of her. I also read that some Japanese Enka/folk singers are Korean descent.

takeshi kaneshiro is quite popular in Japan, I mean he featured in that video game Onimusha and starred in several Japanese movies and dramas. Also Hitoto You is a quite well known half Chinese/Japanese singer.
miyuki-chan
nopes...sorries havent heard of youjeen but i kno boa, m-flo n crystal is pretti good...aneone got boas new CD?.."Best Of Soul" hehe ^^ --> its pretti good....compare it to ayumi's CD "My Story" idk which one is better..lolz
Bug-Eyed Earl
He does speak both Chinese languages, so he perhaps simply has more opportunities to work abroad than a lot of Japanese actors. House of Flying Daggers, I hear, was fantastic. How many Japanese actors get a chance to work with Zhang Yimou?
Titanium
He's more Taiwanese than anything else, he's only a 1/4 Japanese in case anyone didn't know already.

Didn't BoA make it big in Korea first? Which only stregnthens DR's argument.
