definitely anything with vegetables and sabaw/broth. Most pinoys I know love sabaw, and hate dry foods. they can eat fried and dry foods, but they can't eat it more than several times a week.
i grandpops was a great cook, but he loved sabaw and so all his cooking was flooded. when we eat without sabaw, he pours water on his rice.

Yup, that's true. Can't eat without some patis, toyo, or any other sauces either. Actually, on the sabaw thing, some love to put milo or ovaltine instead on rice if the food is dry. During the 80s, this seem like a trend then during elementary days when the standard staple on your lunchbox are hotdog, longganisa, tocino, or "fired" chicken (we fired the cook and then my parents forced us to learn cooking).
I never did tried that milo thing though...

para sa'kin, kahit ano basta ikaw ang kakainin ko.. este ikaw ang nagluto, walang problema! hehe joke
yup, sinigang soup is nice whether it's fish or pork. gusto ko rin yung humba(if anyone else has heard of it, it's pork, btw). pwede ring sweet and sour fish at tsaka pancit na may seafoods.
for snacks? kahit Lucky Me™ pancit canton tapos cheese bread galing sa Julie's bakeshop ok na!! hehe pwede rin yung P6 siomai at P12 siopao plus pusò(rice wrapped in banana leaves.. they don't usually have that in Manila. it's proudly Visayan) malapit sa tinitirhan ko.

have you guys eaten a dog? hahaha.. i had. once.. masarap siya.. niloko ako ng driver namin noon. he said its a goat so kinain ko rin. haha..

ulam - sinigang na hipon o sugpo!! kahit pork okay na! adobong manok sa gata... boneless bangus! ginataang kahit anong gulay!
kanin! kanin at kanin pa uli! hehehe
matamis - leche flan, sago at gulaman, black gulaman, halo-halo,
merienda - sotanghon at sprite

I'm talking just bagoong, fish or shrimp fry, and white rice.
Ghanie are you saying bagoong with the fish only or bagoong, fish, and rice?
ghanie
Apr 12 2005, 07:39 PM
what i mean is the sauce of the bagoong, or we call it 'patis' ng bagoong-isda (bagoong pangasinan for others).
there are several kinds of bagoong kasi.
we have the bagoong-alamang, which is made from tiny shrimps
the so-called dinailan and kuyog (bicol area only)
and then the bagoong-isda or the bagoong pangasinan.
