I'm curious if a lot of laos people hate viets? My mother in law is laos and occasionally makes these remarks about viets... How they took laos land, how they are rude and violent race etc...

I don't know all of the history but didn't this stuff happen a long time ago? Isn't it time to get over it???... Laos people or the ones I know seem to be really bitter about viets and thai... I mean if it bothers you guys so much, why don't you guys do something about it? Better than constantly crying victim right?

Obviously the laos government/military forces are weak to stop thailand and vietnam from invading... maybe you guys are too busy dancing to protect your border...

A lot of Lao people know that south Vietnam govt ran like a dog when Americans pulled out. Whole bunch of coward soldierly that like to talk big.

see this is the bitterness I'm talking about... viets just want to prosper while laos is trapped in the past with so much hatred... i mean from what I hear, viets are still taking land and resources... are you guys still busy dancing to stop it?

South Viet govt is nothing but a loser.

It's just normal issues among neighboring countries, i.e. the Viet versus the Chinese, the Lao, and the Khmer. Or the Thai versus the Burmese, the Lao, the Khmer. But to say that Lao hates Viet that's a too strong statement. It's more like neutral among Lao people, but it's mostly the Lao leaders that form alliance with the Viet leaders and Lao people think something fishy going on under their nose and they don't like it.
