And have you eaten Natto??I like Natto,but foregin people don't like Natto.
Even Many Japanese young people don't like Natto!!!
Yeah,actually Natto smells bad,but I think the taste is good.

Hey,in Kyoto I lived,there are many Takoyaki restaurant!!!
Cause these region is famous of Takoyaki and Okonomiyaki!!

I never had japanese food before. but i feel like i want to try Okonomiyaki. is it good? it looks tasty.

But may be there are no Okonomiyaki!
Okonomiyaki is very good!!!We mix sea foods and pork etc.
Basicly we can mix that we wanna mix!!!

Yeah wasabi is good.We usually use on Sasimi(I mean raw fish).
It's spice.Do you know Takowasa???Takowasa is Octopus and Wasabi that flavored by salt.It's spicy and tase good!!
We eat them with alcohol.If you have a chance,try it

I love most Japanese foods! With the only exception that I don't like tsukemono (pickles, pickled veggies etc.). My favorites are salmon, ikura and torazushi and tendon!!!

And I thought wassabi was some kind japanese sweet sauce when I was young....

I really like udon and okonomiyaki. They're my favourite! ^_^

Haven't got to try too many japanese foods, but I love chicken teriyaki.

I'm Chinese and oh god I love raWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW fish!!!!!!, Japanese teriaki, fried vegies, sushi, noodles, etc.

Here in America most people can't stand raw fish for some contradicting and stupid reasons such as:

It is raw, it is stupid to eat raw fish because you get diseases...

However, these same people eat steak with rare meat in the middle...lol

But, most of the Japanese restaurants here can not get the same quality fish as in Japan so it does not taste as good. SO far the best raw fish I had was in China where I fished live fish and the restaurant fileted it for me.(sooooo good)


BTW, it'll be interesting to know that a lot of Japanese restaurants are opened by Chinese people.

Hello togheter! I hope you're fine! I already went to Japan on 2002! And I will go again this summer! I went also study english in Vancouver, there I could enjoy japanese food with my friends! I like really much japanese food...almost everything! I tryed Natto...I don't like it! But I tryed..people who say they don't like before they don't try I think they can't say that!! Anyway I like edamame with Kirin, then Tonkatsu and sushi! My favourite is Tonkatsu!! Here in switzerland there are few japanese restaurants and really expensive!! So I'm look forward to be in Japan and eat japanese food!

I am crazy about sushi, but I can't seem to find a restaurant ( In Belgium )that has the same great taste like the ones in Tokyo. I also like okanami yaki and Ramen.

I have no idea what natto is but I'm willing to have a go at it. I'm willing to try anything once to see if I like it or not. As for other Japanese foods, I"ve been eating sushi/sashimi for about 13 years and never have gotten sick from it or disliked its rawness. A few of my favorites would be eel sushi and squid sushi but I like them all in general. We have a few good sushi restaurants in Michigan and a new one named Osakas just opened in my neighborhood.<licks my lips at the thought of trying the food there.> Any other suggestions for things to try? Getting back to natto; just what is it exactly?

takusan aruzei !!!! i love natto, curry rice, kastu udon, soba, gyoza, tsukemomo,ato.... mafodofu, sukiyaki ect...

i cant stand the raw dishes, theyre just disgusting and cold and fu-kn fu-k fu-k i hate it. overrated as fu-k too

some of them are healthy though. but yea most of them seem disgusting , probably more of a acquired taste.

LOL. I would NEVER think anyone would bring up Natto here. Hahaha. Yea, I've eaten that before...it's probably in the fridge as we speak. The stuff is good with soy sauce. It'll probably freak out people who aren't used to it though. It's like beans with thick spit all over them. But tasty.

Uhhhh... Yakiniku, freakin owned. Ramen, and mostly japanese confection .

My brother worked in a japanese resto and he would make us those. yumyum.

yakisoba is good good good, but ramen is not not not good for me

dang...hecka people like sushi...even though im Japanese, living in america...i dont really like it... the only ones i like/eat are kapa sushi, span mutsubi, and sometimes a California Roll =]

But, the other foods I couldnt live w/o are : mmmm...chicken katsu, takwan, mochi, and probably tempura....there is one more, but i cant remember the name right now, i eat it every new year, w/ mochi in it...dang thats going to bug me now! Anyone know the name?

No i got it...ozoni...its basically broth, but w/ mochi in it....m mmmm...so freaking good. along with tea and some other new year food! OH so good. I LOVE new years!

none. IMO they're all bland. Japanese food is more presentation>flavor.

I love sashimi. Sashimi over sushi rolls actually. That along with miso is the perfect meal for me. I also had something in Osaka... that was basically rice with fried beef on top, but there was a special sauce on the beef. I guess I'll never find out now.

I agree. I like spicy tasty foods.

Tempura and Katsudon hands down

Have you had kare? Even though it doesn't originate from Japan, kare is my favorite Japanese food. That and miso, although together I'm sure they'd taste disgusting...

no i havent..kare..actually ive never even heard of it...but i LOVE miso too, gotta be red miso mixed with just a bit of white tho...hahaah i sound hella picky!=]

I don't know what kare is. Now I like squid salad and miso.
