Hi, i am doing a research for my anthropology final paper. I am doing a topic on Vietnamese music in saigon or vietnam in general, americaized. I been looking around and I can't seem to find any direct answers. Anyone can be of help, please point me in the direction.
Here are the questions?

What kind of music does vietnamese listen to today? Tradition muiscs or pop, rap, etc.

The city Saigon would you consider it to be more americanized? or still tradtional?

thanks for anyone helps.

Definitely NOT rap. You still have the parents sing to karaoke of traditional song, but younger generation listen to more pop. Beat me down if you like, but I like some of Ung Hoang Phuc's songs.

what do you mean by modern ? Sure that Saigon still lags behind other SEA capitals in term of infrastructure and somehow in culture because of the stringent control of the communists. But I'm confident that Saigon dwellers are very open to foreign culture. But You should notice that the average education level of Vietnamese is above that of Indonesia and Philipines for sure.
