Họ Thiều có nguồn gốc tại Thanh Hoá (cụ Thiều Thốn) cách đây khoảng 1000 năm. Hiện nay gia tộc Họ Thiều chủ yếu có ở Thanh Hoá; Ba Vì-Hà Nội, Vĩnh Phúc.

Ông Thiều Kim Nhật có một con trai là Thiều Kim Xích. Ông Thiều Kim Tình lấy bà Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Nga, người xã Triệu Xá (nay thuộc xã Đông Tiến, huyện Đông Sơn) và sinh ra Thiều Thốn vào năm Khai Thái thứ 3 (1326) đời vua Trần Minh Tông.

Năm Thiệu Phong thứ 16 (Đinh Dậu - 1357), vua Trần ra chiếu chỉ tìm người đánh quân Chiêm sang cướp Hoá Châu. Ông Thiều Thốn xin xuất quân Nam chinh, được vua Trần phong làm Thượng Tướng Quân. Sau khi dẹp được ngoại xâm, Thiều Thốn được vua Trần ban phong "Khai quốc công thần thượng trụ quốc thượng" và gả công chúa thứ hai là Trần Ngọc Hải làm vợ.

Sau đó Thiều Thốn được bổ chức Phòng ngự xứ Lạng Sơn, rất được tướng sĩ dưới trướng yêu mến .

Just did a Google search on her and 9 out of 10 webpages on her were based out of Vietnam (.vn). Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the last name "Kieu" or "Thieu" an ethnic Hoa last name? Wasn't this ethnic the first one that got robbed down to their undies and chased out of their homes by the commies the minute they overran Saigon?
