THE POPULAR reality TV show, "Big Brother," is coming to the Philippines and local broadcaster ABS-CBN hopes it will be a ratings winner, the broadcaster said Wednesday.
ABS-CBN paid an undisclosed sum to the Dutch production company, Endemol, for the Philippine rights to the program.

Apart from Thailand, the Philippines will be the only country in Asia to have its own version of the hit reality program which has captivated television audiences in Europe, North and South America and Australia since it was introduced in the Netherlands in 1999.

The local version of the show to be called "Kuya" or elder brother is expected to go to air in August and will be much the same as the original.

Twelve total strangers will spend 100 days in a large, suburban house in Manila fully equipped with 26 cameras and microphones which will allow viewers to see how they interact with each other.

The participants will have no contact with the outside world -- no television,
radio and newspapers, ABS-CBN officials said.

Once a week, viewers will be allowed to vote through telephone and mobile phone Short Messaging Systems (SMS) on which of the participants should be voted out.

The last remaining contestant wins a two million peso (36,800 dollar) house, a million pesos in cash and a new car.

ABS-CBN hopes "Big Brother" will help it regain its leading position in the prime time TV market and help swing the company back into profitability.

In the first quarter of this year ABS-CBN reported a 114 million-peso loss due mainly to a drop in revenues in Manila.

Hah hah filipino style, this should prove to be interesting

That is what the television promotion all about.

They require people to call the hotline number being fash on the television.

I think it will not click !!!!! hello ABS-CBN management stop imitating foreign based reality shows......
Gwapito
icon_confused.gif Oh my goodness, this show is an irrefutable disgrace to society and an epitome of degrading the concepts of evolution itself. Well, I tried watching this show in Australia and all I can say is that this is a pretty insipid "Entertainment Program" if you still consider that. Imagine 16 people in one single house with all cameras lingering around the household, including the toilet and bathroom. What kind of human would accept himself in that show and litterally obtruse him/herself to social shame in the eyes of the public...The prize maybe tempting but a show that its concept dwells on human salinity and perforates through human emotions and weaknesses...Duh, what do you expect. Human are intended to show those qualities and the producers expect us to obsess with it...

It's better to watch J@ck@ss in MTV rather than that show. Even though J@ck@ss may already ne considered a show that promotes human stupidity, it still pertains to one moral that people who watch it should not copy those annoying mongrels trying to be hotshots through senseless shame...At least that show has 1 moral...Well, I don't see any values that Big Brother has... sure.gif

Expect that ABS-CBN management will get people who are photogenic and can stand camera everytime....

Unfortunately, ordinary people maybe with the "Personality" are the ones they hire for that show that obviously would make that show...Hmm...Interesting...Still the show would be so intrusive in some terms...Oh well, better wait for the results then if ever they make that into realization...
Ek-ek
Yup! Expect that.

Will it fare vs. Extra Challenge?
Gwapito
biggthumpup.gif Oh sure, naked people that has issues versus Extra Challenge with a host that has a sex video...Filipino version of big brother will surely hit the ratings.

I hope that they keep the contestants as isolated as possible.

I am basing my theories in the Australian version okay...Well, the contenders there lived a luxurious life...I mean, all the meals were cooked by them but then they have to get them in their cupboards and refrigerators so the staff maybe were the ones who refilled them...And thier neccesities were supplied by the show, gym facilities, a pool, a jaccuzi, a sauna...And they like have different parties in their ballroom area every night with different themes...Unlimited supplies of booze and any normal individual would want and they all sleep in one room. They don't share beds but one room..The only thing they were obliged to do is create some issues within themselves wherein they persuade the audience that they do have issues...I mean one contestant in the Australian version told that she was a wh_re...Well that would really be interesting if one of the filipino contenders revealed that... So yeah, its a stupid and interesting show for Filipino's to watch...

And the thing is why they called that BIG BROTHER, is because there is this voice that tell the contenders within that place things to do like if whether they are out or have violated something...

An example: "Mark, this is BIG BROTHER...You have been voted out"

So yeah...Pretty stupid and quite interesting to see how the Filipino's do it...

They are constructing a big house!

HOUSE RULES

Life in the Pinoy Big Brother house is about going back to basics. Housemates will have to adhere to rules & principles set by Big Brother in their attempt to last 100 days inside the Big Brother House.

Pinoy Big Brother Principles

The lifestyle in the house is “back to basics.” Housemates will have no information about or from the outside world. Housemates will be cut-off completely from friends, families and loved ones. Complete strangers come together to live as Housemates and to create a unique family unit. The nomination process evicts people from the house. Everything that happens in the house and garden is filmed. This is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Rules Around the House

The Big Brother House is specially designed and equipped for the 12 Housemates. At the beginning of the show, Housemates will enter through the main entrance of the House. When they walk through those gates again is totally dependent on them.

While in the House, Housemates must abide by the following Big Brother rules:

Furniture

Furniture and soft furnishings within the confines of the Big Brother House should not be moved. These include:
1. Sofas
2. Beds
3. Kitchen table
4. Confessional room chair
5. Bedroom pillows

Bathrooms

The bathroom will contain a sink, shower-area and toilet. For safety reasons, the door of the bathroom cannot be locked. Housemates will have to post a given sign on the door of the bathroom to indicate if it is being used. Housemates will also be given one hour only of HOT water before bedtime.

Kitchen & Dining Area

The kitchen and dining area are combined and include a sink, hotplate, fridge, oven and a table with chairs. Every day, the Housemates must decide on the daily main meal. There will be one and only one menu for this meal. If a Housemate is a vegetarian, s/he must still eat the same meal. They may only remove the meat.

Confession Room

The Confession Room is the only room in the House where Housemates can communicate with Big Brother and vice versa. This is the venue where Housemates can voice out their personal feelings and observations about fellow Housemates. This is also where they can inform Big Brother of a voluntary exit, joint calls and emergencies. Big Brother can also speak to Housemates about House issues, while they are in the Confession Room.

A Housemate can even be summoned to the Confession Room if Big Brother feels there is a pressing issue that needs to be discussed. Failure to appear in the Confession Room when requested by Big Brother could result in disqualification.

All nominations for evictions should be made in the Confession Room.

To enter the Confession Room, Housemates must press an electronic buzzer. The door will then automatically open if no one else is in the room. Although Housemates can make joint calls to Big Brother, Housemates cannot enter the Confession Room if someone else is inside. A light will indicate if the room is occupied.

In summary, a Housemate may enter the Confession Room for the following reasons:
1. Nomination
2. Voluntary exit
3. To share personal feelings & thoughts
4. Emergencies
5. Big Brother requested to talk to a Housemate
6. Private counseling from a psychologist

Storage Room

Tools and dry goods that the Housemates can use are located here. There is also a supply of staples and vegetables inside the storage room, which the Housemates will have access to for only fifteen minutes a day (betweek 10:00-10:15 AM). The door to the room is electronically locked and only Big Brother can open the door for the Housemates.

For tasks, there may also be one-off deliveries to the storage room. Housemates should not use this opportunity to collect extra food.

Garden

There is landscaping and a swimming pool in the garden. Housemates are expected to water and maintain these plants. They should also keep the pool clean.

Roof

Housemates are not allowed to climb onto the roof of the House or to any other structure that confines the House. Housemates who disregard this rule may be disqualified and asked to leave by Big Brother.

Cameras

Cameras and microphones make sure that there is no privacy in the Big Brother House. There are cameras located all around the House and the garden, including the bathrooms. All rooms are fully illuminated at all times, except for the bedrooms where lights can be switched off at night. Big Brother reserves the right to broadcast anything, although discretion will also be used. Footage from the bathroom may be broadcast if the room is being used for purposes other than that which it was intended (ex. 2 Housemates are gossiping inside the bathroom).

When asked, Housemates are expected to clean the one-way mirrors that span the house. Cleaning materials will be provided to the Housemates.

Microphones

Housemates must wear their radio-mics at all times. Any attempt to cover the mics or to communicate through writing secret messages or mouthing words to the cameras is prohibited. Big Brother may disqualify a Housemate who breaks this microphone rule. The only times when they may remove their mics are when they are asleep or are in the swimming pool or shower. When removed, Housemates must place their mics at designated areas.

Housemates are also responsible for changing the batteries of their mics every 8 hours. New batteries will be placed in the Confession Room. This is where the Housemates must change their batteries. When communicating with Big Brother, Housemates must first remove the batteries from their mics.

Leaving the House

Housemates leave the House in one of three ways:
1. They are nominated
2. They decide to quit the House of their own free will
3. Big Brother disqualifies them and asks them to leave
4. Once a Housemate leaves, there is absolutely NO returning to the House.

New Housemates

A new Housemate may be called in to replace any person who leaves voluntarily or who has been disqualified by Big Brother. This replacement can be a former Housemate who had previously been evicted. If and when this happens, the following rules apply:
1. Housemates cannot ask the new Housemate any questions about the outside world, and the new Housemate cannot report any news about the outside world.
2. Housemates must help the new Housemate adjust to life in the House.
If the new Housemate wins, s/he will not receive the full prize money. The cash prize will be computed based on her/his stay in the House.
3. The new Housemate will be exempt from the next nomination round.

Forced Exit

Another way to leave the House is through the voting-out procedure, which is as follows:
1. Once a week, every week, all Housemates will be called into the Confession Room one-by-one.
2. Housemates are given 3 points to use for nominations. While in the room, Housemates nominate the 2 people they believe should leave the House. They assign 1 point to one of the people they nominate, and the remaining 2 points to the other nominee. A Housemate cannot assign all 3 points to 1 person.
3. Housemates must give a reason for the nomination of each of their nominees.
4. Housemates cannot nominate themselves.
5. Housemates may not plot or scheme against a fellow Housemate. Doing so is against the rules of the Big Brother House.
6. Housemates may not throw dice, draw straws or use any kind of game to select the eviction nominees.
7. If a Housemate refuses to make a nomination, s/he must leave the house. Such action will be considered as a voluntary exit, not an eviction.
The two (or more) Housemates with the highest points will be up for eviction.
Big Brother reserves the right to declare a nomination round invalid.

The results of the nominations will be announced to the Housemates a few hours after the nomination round. The announcement to the viewers will be made public the next day. Viewers then vote in the Housemate they want to stay in the House.

Safety Protocol/Emergencies

Housemates must abide by the rules of Big Brother for their own safety. In addition, Housemates must undergo a fire and first-aid training before they enter the House. They will also be given a written plan for emergencies, so that they may familiarize themselves with such procedures.

In the event of an emergency, Big Brother will communicate to Housemates via the public address system. Housemates are expected to follow all directives from Big Brother. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.

Violence

Any Housemate who becomes violent will be removed from the House immediately.

Accident & Illness

In case of an accident, Housemates may use the first-aid kit located in the living room. Housemates may also go to the Confession Room to report if additional medical help is needed.

If a doctor, nurse or dentist is needed for minor treatments, they will enter the House and treat the patient in the Confession Room. If a Housemate needs hospital treatment, Big Brother will judge whether the Housemate may return to the House. If a hospital visit is necessary, a member of the production team will accompany the Housemate to ensure there is minimal contact with the outside world.

A psychologist will also be available for counseling, either on request of the Housemate or if Big Brother feels it is necessary. Counseling sessions will not be filmed nor will Big Brother listen in to the conversation. Although the psychologist will maintain client confidentiality, s/he will let Big Brother know if the Housemates have any pressing issues or vulnerabilities that need to be addressed. Support will also be provided for Housemates once they leave the House.

Fire

There will be fire extinguishers in the House, which may be used by Housemates to extinguish small fires. In case of a serious fire hazard, Housemates are instructed to go into the garden and Big Brother will advise further.

Uninvited Guests

Big Brother is the only contact Housemates may have with the outside world. Big Brother will never come to the House unannounced. It may be possible, though, for people to try to reach and enter the House. If there are uninvited guests around the House, Big Brother will ask Housemates to go to the Confession or Storage room immediately. Should parachutists land in the Big Brother garden, Housemates should follow the instructions of Big Brother and they should keep the garden door locked.

Here is one of the diary of Rico:
Monday, August 22, 2005 9:24 PM

This is only the first day of Pinoy Big Brother. But a very controversial secret has been revealed by one of the housemates.

Less than five hours from the time that he got inside the house, Rico, the former Hosto of Japan, revealed something about his personal life that shocked his fellow housemates.

While having a chit chat in the dining room at around two o’ clock in the morning, the housemates discussed their feelings when they bid goodbye to their loved ones. Rico suddenly brought up his relationship with his family leading to the revelation of his unusual situation with his half-siblings.

Rico’s Revelations

He revealed that his siblings on his mother side didn’t know that he is their half-brother. They know Rico as their cousin.

“Hindi alam nong apat kong kapatid na kapatid nila ako. Malalaman nila yon dahil sa Big Brother.”

Aside from this, Rico also confidently disclosed to the 11 strangers that he just met a few hours ago and to millions of Filipinos that the relatives of his step father in San Fernando, Pampanga know that he is his mother’s nephew. He also admitted that his revelation could cause trouble and conflict to his mother and the relatives of his step father.

Rico’s revelation shocked some of the housemate but after a few minutes, they begun to talk about other things that were not as serious as Rico’s Revelations. Rico also did not look worried after disclosing his very personal secret as if he did not reveal anything to the world.

They have confessed. Rico likes chx and chx likes rico. Will they become the first lovers of Pinoy Big Brother? We will find out soon, very soon.

Yesterday, Chx and Rico openly confessed to Pinoy Big Brother that they like one another. Few hours later, they were seen together all over the house. From the pool, inside the living room and even in the dining room.

Signs of a developing love story

The 27 cameras inside big brother house were able to catch the “sweet moments” of Rico and Chx.

This morning, while Rico was sitting on the couch by the girl’s bed room, Chx was lying beside him. Noticeably, one of chx's feet was stuck between the legs of Rico. What’s more exciting is that Rico even rubbed Chx’s legs while the latter was sleeping.

Yesterday, while the housemates were talking inside the living room, Rico complained of having back pains, Chx, who was beside him during that time, immediately touched rico’s back to comfort the guy.

Also this morning, the two was also seen sitting beside one another in the pool while the housemates were having a little talk about different things. The two also sat together in the dining room while eating.

With these overwhelming evidences, it seems that Rico and Chix are definitely flirting with one another. Is Rico ready to fall in love again knowing that just this morning, he sobbed after staring at the picture of his ex-girlfriend. What will be the reaction of Chx’ boytoy if he sees Chx flirtatious moves?

Racquel Gets It From Cass!

While the housemates were holding a midnight chickahan in the garden half an hour past midnight, their lively chat was cut short when the usually calm and composed Cass reproached Racquel for the latter’s (this early) propensity to interrupt others while they are speaking and at some instances, according to Cass’s observation, even comes out haughty whenever she imposes her opinions and views on others. Cass then lapsed into a lengthy monologue on her sentiments about Racquel.

“ Lagi mong nili-lift ang sarili mo, kapag nagsasalita ka para bang kailangan malaman ng tao na mataas ka, may degree ka. Dapat ba lagi kang mataas? I-share mo lang ang alam mo huwag mong nili-lift ang sarili mo!”, Cass told Racquel to her face.

A potential argument was averted when Racquel told her housemates, who at the time seem to share Cass’s sentiments, that she is open to criticisms and liberal discussions about their attitudes and behaviour, lapses included. She didn’t attempt to dispute Cass’s emotional tirades.

Directly addressing Cass, Racquel told her she appreciates Cass’s honesty. The housemates were in agreement that it’s better that they hold open discussions about what peeves them about each other rather than to talk behind each other’s back. They informally formulated a rule, or more like a promise, that they will not speak ill of any housemate who is not present during a particular discussion and therefore unable to defend himself/herself.

Cass’s reiterates her love for teachers because based from her experience, her mentors from elementary all the way to college loved her, too. And for that she doesn’t want Racquel to ruin her high regard for the said profession.

After letting out steam against Racquel, Cass reverted to her friendly dispositon. It helped, of course, that Racquel proved she can take constructive criticisms well.

The discussion may not have led to a full-blown argument or a ***-for-tat clash between Cass and Racquel but we can’t tell for sure if the next time a similar, or more tense-filled scenario tranpires, the two- or the other housemates for that matter-, can still manage to be as mature and lucid in handling conflicts.

At one point in her ‘sermon’, Cass says to her housemates “ hindi porke maalaga ako, malambing ako, hindi na ako sasabog, mamaya iyang swimming pool maging kulay pula na!” For all we know, it might be an advice-or threat- her housemates better heed if they know what’s good for them. After all, with 12 strangers of clashing personalities living under one roof 24/7, surprises are more like the norm and not the exception.

Franzen: Jologs Underdog?
Thursday, August 25, 2005 4:14 AM

Franzen, the certified ‘jologs’ among the housemates, has been quietly struggling with the nagging feelings of being the odd man out in the group. But as the gang chilled out by the pool in the wee hours of the morning today, Franzen finally articulated his concerns and anxieties to Jason.

Franzen seemed to have found a friend in Jason when they had a heart to heart talk where he opened, albeit hesitantly at first, his ‘issue’ with Racquel. Apparently, Fanzen took offense of Racquel’s bossy and know-it-all attitude during their brainstorming and rehearsal sessions for the cheering competition yesterday.

“Okay lang naman sana pagsabihan ako ni Ma’m pero garapal na. Narinig mo ba iyung banat niya sa akin kanina? Nawawala daw ako. Parang wala siya kasing tiwala sa akin”, Franzen shared to Jason.

Ever the shy and seemingly averse to conflicts kind of guy, Franzen later told Jason to keep what they have discussed about Racquel to themselves. “ Atin na lang ito pare, ayoko ng isyu”, he said to the sympathetic Jason who encouraged him to be more upfront with his feelings in order not to be mistreated.

Franzen also revealed to Jason that much as he would love to crack jokes to the group, he oftentimes had to restrict himself from freely doing so, unsure of how his more sophisticated housemates would welcome his kind of ‘jologs humor’. Then there’s the language barrier, too, which he constantly had to grapple with.

“Ang hirap bumanat ng English dito, tapos pag may slang-slang na, di na ako maka-relate kaya siguro di ko pa mahuli ugali ni Uma”, Franzen unabashedly shared to Jason.

In the end, thanks also to Jason’s encouragement, the optimist in Franzen prevailed as he reiterated to Jason his belief that his becoming part of Pinoy Big Brother is not without purpose. He thinks God put him in the contest for a reason.

But as it’s still a long way to go, Franzen hasn’t seen the worst yet. Question is- can Franzen’s resolve to fight it out despite his perceived ‘liabilities’ see him through or will his insecurties take the better of him once the going gets even tougher?

Is he the underdog in this real life teleserye Pinoys should root for? Or will he be the viewers' bet for the first few recipients of the soon-to-be dreaded eviction notices? There’s only one way to find out- stay tuned to Pinoy big Brother!

Racquel cries as Housemates gang up on her again

12:30pm August 25
This is not the first time that this has happened. While the 12 housemates are having fun confessing their favorite body parts of their housemates, the issue of Racquel as being mataray and bossy was brought up again. And this time, Racquel did not take it easily; She broke shed tears as the housemates gang up on her attitude.

First to comment was Cass, the same housemate who brought up the same issue two nights ago. She disclosed that She again experienced Racquel’s ‘katarayan’ last night when she asked Racquel to turn off his lapel microphone. “Sabi ko sa kanya, ate, i-off ko un lapel mo kasi matutulog na tayo, sabi niya Baket? Baket? Di pa ako matutulog.”

Jenny immediately supported Cass' statement and sighted Her personal experience of Racquel’s 'katarayan'. “Kahapon sabi niya gusto niyang maligo, sabi ko, ako nga hindi naligo kasi masakit yung katawan ko, tapos sabi niya at least kayo nakapaglinis ng katawan at nakapagtoothbrush. Napakasarcastic ng sagot mo”

Racquel immediately apologized and defended herself. She said that she just woke up that’s why she was not in the mood. But Jenny refused to accept Racquel’s explanation. Cass also told Racquel that she has to adjust with the people around her and should be more sensitive with others’ feelings. Cass’ mouth was like a machine gun firing live ammunitions at her. Bob interfered and ask Racquel to explain her side on the issues being thrown at her face.

“I’m sorry, talagang ganun lang ako, If you think na sarcastic ako, that’s me, I didnt mean anything bad for everbody. I know nasasaktan kayo,” Racquel said. She also stressed that she feels flattered when people approach her to tell her mistakes. “Mas masaya ako, i mean everybody concerned feel ko mahal ako. I just don't know how to react, kung paano express ang feeling ko sa inyo, gusto kong iparamdam na mahal ko kayo, but im not used to it, Sorry.”

While explaining this to the housemate, Racquel cries and walkes out from the living room.

House is at peace as housemates prepare for lunch

The housemates have resolved the problem. After sharing their views on Racquel's attitude and hearing the latter's explanation, they have ended the lengthy emotional talk. They're now preparing for their late lunch.

Racquel is now in the garden cleaning the tilipias that they will eat for lunch. Chx approaches Racquel to comfort the latter who is still sobbing. She then helps Racquel clean the fish.

On the other side of the garden, the boys are eating chicharon and they talk about what they're eating. Bob says that chicaron from Bulacan is delicious.

I have seen this in another forum!
Foreigners are also watching the Pinoy Big Brother :

Fenix:How embarrassing...even BB in the Phillipines has a more advanced website than us... God, we're stuck in the dark ages.

And what do you mean the house "looks like a house"...in what way? Looks just like a normal BB style house to moi. Is that what you meant?

Emjoi:
I've been looking thru the website. Quite fun and very teen-Philippino.
When you read the HM's bios, they are quite... innocent... talking about using the money they win to help out their parents etc. Even a little love affair brewing in the place... it's quite mild and sweet. No dry humping in saunas.

English is quite common in the Philippines. People often speak a jumble of both English and Pinoy. I think the streaming is on a pay subscription base, but it's cheap.
I haven't gotten around to trying to subscribe just yet.

And Philippinos are total Mobile Phone and txting freaks, so they up to scratch on all that "3 Mobile" style stuff.

While the other housemates are busy chitchatting in the living room. Jason finds serenity staring at the picture of his family.

He hums a song while looking at the picture, where He is with his wife and son. Jason then gets a letter, apparently from his wife, and reads it before going out of the room to have his lunch.

The housemates are really enjoying the show and apparently have forgotten the emotional situation that they had this afternoon.

From a talk show to a teleserye. The stars of the real-life soap opera are now creating their own teleserye, ang 'Hubaderang Kuba'.

The housemates are now in the boys' bedroom. They are trying to create their own version of the hit teleserye 'Kampanerang Kuba.' Say is the lead actress of 'hubaderang kuba,' and plays the role of 'timang' while Nene, Jenny and Chx portray the role of the three nuns. The group are enjoying the performance of the three nuns as they sing a song for Timang.

They are now finished with scene 1. The Director, Racquel is getting ready to shoot the second scene with her camera made from a rolled paper. In scene two, Rico aka Martin will hit Timang for not removing the rust in his room. The rolled paper camera is now rolling, Martin drags Timang to the bed and hits her in the head. Other housemates laugh out loud as the Director cuts the scene.

This is how the housemates are spending their time so as not to get bored inside the house. What wil they do next? A Newscast, sitcom or a spoof of Pinoy Big Brother, no one knows except the housemates so stay tuned.

Jason: Special Child?!

The housemates are just lounging in the sala enjoying another round of talks and jokes galore. This time they are poking fun at Jason. Uma says he actually thought Jason was a special child the first time he saw him. Rico adds it could probably be attributed to Jason’s attire at that time. Still at it, Uma reiterates he really couldn’t dig Jason!

Breaking the ‘wholesome’ Jason-bashing, Uma suddenly tells Cass not to give him a lingering look lest he falls for her.

Fun Interrupted: Housemates Get Serious!
8/26/2005 7:00 PM

Serious work gets in the way of fun for the housemates as they decide to prioritize their budget deliberations over a fun musical game.

The housemates converge at the sala for a musical game of their own initiative. It’s to be a boys vs. girls fun game. They are discussing the game’s mechanics and the punishment for the losers. Bob suggests that the losing team should be deprived of chocolate bars. Cass counters that losers should do all household chores instead. Franzen naughtily proposes that members of the losing team should strip.

The game’s just starting when Uma arrives and says they have exceeded their budget by P7,000 and urges his housemates to re-do their budgeting.

The housemates abandon their game to go over the budget at once- and with uncharacteristic seriousness, too,- proving again that they can indeed muster unity when they so decide.

Diary entries fro the offical webby:

Breakfast is ready. 8/26/2005 11:47 AM

Earlier today, Say was summoned to the confession room by Pinoy Big Brother. She was given a personal task. She needs to make sure that JB and Franzen will not fall asleep for the wholeday (sic) and she must not speak english for today. Failure to do both task will result to a penalty.

Also before the housemate had their breakfast, Nene, Bob, Say and Racquel played piko inside the living room, Uma and Jason, who were still sleepy, preferred to just watch the game from the sidelines.

Female Housemates' self-imposed daily task: Make your self look so Kikay 8/26/2005 12:00 PM

It has become a daily routine. After having their breakfast, the girls are in session again for 'kakikayan'. Nene, Racquel, Jenny and Say are busy putting makeup on their face. Their (sic) like teenage girls preparing for a debut party. Chx on the other hand is fixing her things. Beside her, of course, is none other than Rico. Cass is also about to start her 'kakikayan' session, she's looking for her makeup and other accessories.

Indeed, Sey, Cass and Chx Kakikayan is contagious. First, it was Uma who got infected with it when he wore Sey's jacket and skirts. The instant cross-dresser would even want to try girls' other clothes but they refused. Then, it was the three Astig girls, Nene, Jenny and Racquel. Was Uma just being natural or does he only want to be friends with them? Same to the Astig girls, was it just purely their trip or was there something more about it? One thing for sure. Kakikayan has become a medium for anybody in the Big House that whenever they would want to become closer with Sey, Cass and Chx, whether by proximity or by heart, they do Kakikayan.

Outside the Girls' bedroom, Uma and JB are having a small talk about Uma's life experiences. Jason catches their attention. The Batangueno is having his own kikay moment, he is soaking his feet in hot water to make it smooth. JB teases Jason. He accusses him of adopting his two children to hide his 'kabaklaan'.

The tribe of Pinoy Big Brother 8/26/2005 1:44 PM

The Tribal housemates are done with their tribal show. They are now inside the house for their open forum.

Evident to Nene was her artistry. She was the group's make-up artist. Everyone had a great tribal look! During the body painting challenge, her Picasso hands made Rico and Chx a work of art. Because of her, their team won. Unfortunately, this time, the credit wasn't given to her. Find out to whom Big Brother gave it in the next paragraphs.

For their tribal presentation, the housemates danced around the bon fire while chanting a 'bulaklak' inspired tribal song that they composed. After their song and dance number, the group shouted "We love you big brother" and gave themselves a round of applause.

The choreogaphy was great, courtesy of Jason, who doesn't only have Eric Santos' voice but Mel Feliciano's feet and creative ideas as well. However, sometimes, the housemates weren't sychonized for there are some who doesn't only have two feet but also are poor in kenisthetic. Obvious was Rico.

The housemates put out the fire and thanked everyone who helped keep the fire burning for five days.

Success!!! 8/26/2005 2:08 PM

The housemates are rejoicing after passing their first weekly challenge with flying colors.

With this success, Big Brother rewards them by increasing their weekly allowance to nine thousand from five thousand pesos.

Before the announcement was made, the housemates have already thanked each other. Jb also stressed to maintain team work so that they will excell and eventually pass all the task that they will face in the upcoming weeks.

"Walang iwanan sama-sama. ang essence ng ginawa natin for five days, was to keep the fire burning, ibig sabihin yung team work natin lets keep it within us," JB said.

Hmmm. It seems JB has good qualities of a good leader. During the emotional discussion of the housemates on Racquel's attitude, he wasn't taking side and was considering the points of everyone. Then, he was boosting other's morale and encouraging everyone for unity.

Aside from increasing their allowance, Pinoy Big Brother selected Say as the best dressed housemate for the tribal activity and gave her the option to select an item from the luxury list worth 500 pesos. Although conflict started to set in during their first week inside the Pinoy Big Brother house, the housemates proved that they can still work together as a team and survive the challenges of Pinoy Big Brother.

Housemates treat themselves with Ice cream 8/26/2005 2:45 PM

It's free time again for the housemates as they eat ice cream to celebrate their successful 1st week in Pinoy Big Brother.

What do you think will happen if you combine chx, rico and a scoop of ice cream sweet as an ice-cream moment for the two love birds. Rico gives chx a scoop of ice cream while the latter is fixing her eyebrows

The other housemates have also started to remove their tribal makeup and get back to their normal looks as they get ready to prepare their lunch for today.

This wasn't shown.

Kainan na! 8/26/2005 3:39 PM

After their exhausing tribal-themed activity, The housemates are hungry that they could eat a horse. They are feasting on 'sarsyado'. The members of the two most promising love teams of Pinoy Big Brother are seated beside each other. Chix is sitting beside Rico, while Uma and Cass are also seated together. While eating, they’re chitchatting about the movie

How I wish I have seen it.

Housemates prepare next week's shopping list 8/26/2005 5:00 PM

With a bigger budget, Housemates prepare a long list of things that they want to be included in their shopping list.

They housemates are excited to have their requests included in the shopping list. Jenny wants 'bagoong', 'patis' and 'labuyo'. Vain Rico wants a shaver and beers, Bob seems very hungry and wants to include peanut butter, 'chocnut' squidball and chocolates.

Jenny headed the budget deliberation as Chx writes the things they would be needing for the entire week.

Jason, a father, who enjoyed soaking his feet in hot water this morning, now wants to have a nipper. Franzen who's lying on the floor and enjoying the view of Cass' t-back wants to have menthol candies, apparently to keep himself from feeling hot over Cass' undies. Racquel, who's too busy picking her nose, is not interested in the activity and did not request for anything.

These showed the everyone's differences when it comes to priority and needs. Jenny and Bob wanted food more than anything else. Jason and Rico desired a shaver (and beer) and nipper, respectively to endure their vanity. Franzen, who rather asked for a menthol candy, and Racquel, who did not request for a thing, reflected how different they were from others.

Jason: Special Child?! 8/26/2005 6:00 PM

Oh I see.

This time, Nene and Jenny swiftly headed the activity. Racquel immediately erased everything that was written on the mini-blackboard and started writing their budget. Jenny and Chx budgeting skills was incomparable to that of Nene and Racquel.

Astig si Nene! 8/26/2005 8:00 PM

The housemates are preparing dinner just now. While the other girls are preoccupied with chatting about their families, Nene concentrates on cooking. Franzen comes in to offer help and asks Nene if she really knows how to cook. As if challenged by Franzen’s question, Nene blurts out: “Marunong! Kahit pagkatay ng manok at baboy, marunong ako! Kahit paniki, kinakain ko!”

Nene is indeed multi-talented. She is artistic, good in budgeting and then, who would think, she could cook!

Housemates Play Charade 8/26/2005 10:00 PM

After taking their dinner, the housemates retreat to the sala to continue their aborted game earlier. This time, though, the housemates decide to play charade with movie titles up for guessing. Boys band together against the girls.

The housemates agree on a basic game mechanics- the opposing team is to think of a movie title to be guessed by the other group. A representative of the other group then whispers their desired movie title to the representative of the other team who then will act it out for his/her teammates to guess.

The guys are currently leading as we bring you this update with a score of 4-2. But the girls are still protesting, according to them it’s supposed to be 4-3.

(Stay logged on to find out if the guys will go on to outplay the girls the girls will score a comeback and eventually win.)

Rico the Hopeless Romantic 8/27/2005 12:30 AM

Rico is at it again! The guy who shared to the world how much he still loves his ex-girlfriend appears to be feeling the blues anew. Alone in bed, he gets a picture and looks at it sadly.

(Whose picture is it? We will find out soon as the cameras continue to follow Rico’s every move.)

If there is one housemate who has no scarcity when it comes to making gimmick so he/she could get the attetion of the camera, it would definitely be him! His flirting with Chx was a certified hit to the viewers.
Still playing 8/27/2005 1:15 AM

At an hour past midnight, the housemates continue to play charade but with much less fervor this time.

Some are visibly sleepy while Chx falls asleep. They stop keeping track of the score.

Uma gets himself a drink.

Cass is hugging a throw pillow to cover her front (she is bra-less).

While his housemates try to keep the game going despite their exhausted conditions, Rico withdraws to the male’s bedroom to emote some more. He gets his ex-girlfriend’s picture frame from the side table and looks at it. His shirt probably says it all – “I love my girlfriend”.

Drama King!

Housemates: Already Losing Track of Date? 8/27/2005 2:40 AM

The housemates are now stationed at the kitchen as they take their midnight snack of noodles, bread and iced tea.

Jenny is in a talkative mode as she shares her appreciation for her foster parents and her love for her child. She also reveals that her wedding was postponed twice.

Finally, she was talking.

The housemates also discuss about going to Boracay together.

They also talk about their Pinoy Big Brother auditions and their initial apprehensions about disclosing intimate details of their lives. Nene thinks they were chosen because of their unique stories. The group also discusses what stories click with the Pinoys.

The gang talks about Pinoy Big Brother airing and speculate on what has been shown. Jenny wonders if the conversation they are having right now will also be shown in its entirety and answers her own question with “ baka sa internet lang!”

Their first week isn’t over yet but our housemates are beginning to lose track of the date. Some of the girls are arguing if it’s August 26 or August 27.

PBB next weekly challenged should test the housemates body clock. There would be no wake up call and lights offs. I wonder if they would still eat and sleep on the right time.

Lights-off for the housemates! 8/27/2005 2:45 AM

It’s rest time finally for our housemates after another hectic day. Sleep came easy for our real life teleserye as soon as they hit the bed. The boys could even be heard snoring.

The housemates’chatting earlier was cut short by Big Brother’s advice to them to go to sleep. Seemingly in panic, Uma immediately ran to the male's bedroom when he heard Big Brother's instruction.

thumbsdown.gif Stern warning for ‘Big Brother’

First posted 08:06pm (Mla time) Aug 27, 2005
By Marinel Cruz
Inquirer News Service

ONLY in its first week of airing, ABS-CBN’s new reality show, “Pinoy Big Brother” has already received a stern warning from the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board for airing “objectionable dialogue” and footage of female contestants in “skimpy” outfits.

MTRCB Chair Marissa Laguardia told Inquirer Entertainment that she met with ABS-CBN executives on Friday to discuss how “to make [the show] more wholesome.”

Incident report

The warning and discussion were prompted by an incident report submitted on Aug. 24 by two MTRCB special agents who reviewed the first two episodes on Aug. 22 and 23.

According to the report, one segment in the pilot show was a group conversation about female contraceptives. One male contestant said: “Di pa ako nakakakita ng condom sa girls (sic)… ano ba ang itsura?” (I have yet to see condom for women.)
A female contestant replied: “’Yung bilog… isusuot sa loob para ikaw (male) hindi na magsusuot.” (It’s round… it’s place inside so the male partner won’t have to wear it.)

Using a condom was described as “Pangit... parang eating banana na may balat.” (Like eating an unpeeled banana.)

On Aug. 23, the housemates shared stories of their first sexual intercourse. The report continued: “One of the males said he was 8 when it happened, with a maid.”

The agents insisted that such dialogue was not suitable for TV.

In “Pinoy Big Brother,” 12 young men and women live together in a house for 100 days, with 26 cameras following them around as they develop relationships.

Laguardia said the Board earlier received similar complaints from a group called Code M, citing “too intimate” footage, for instance, female contestants taking a bath or changing their underwear.

She said the Board also found objectionable the airing of one particular scene featuring a male and two female housemates during a body-painting session. The guy wore tight-fitting shorts and some parts of his body were blurred, Laguardia said, but viewers could still see that the girls were painting the crotch area.

But she said the network was “receptive” to the Board’s suggestions. “They said it was a new show and they were still adjusting. They promised an ‘improved’ show next week, something more acceptable to [both] parents and kids.”

Preview episodes

In the coming weeks, ABS-CBN would also submit taped episodes for preview, said Laguardia. “Meanwhile, we’ll continue with post-reviews. If we find any more objectionable parts, we could suspend its airing.”

Present in Friday’s meeting were censors Ed Sicam and Erik Mallonga, and ABS-CBN execs Cory Vidanes and Linggit Tan, lawyer Mario Santos and “Big Brother” director Lauren Dyogi.

Girl Housemates Offended by King Uma's Actions
Monday, August 29, 2005 10:49 AM

For the past week, Uma has been the apple of the eye of the girl housemates. They see Uma as a sweet, fun-loving and funny person. But their impression of this half-Israeli, half Filipino cutie changed in an instant last night.

Uma and the girl housemates got into a heated argument when the latter were offended by Uma’s actions. The incident happened while they were performing a task, where Uma portrayed the role of a King and delegated different nonsensical chores to the female housemates.

At first, the tasks that Uma asked the girls to perform were just simple, like serving drinks to the boys, etc. But tension started when the King asked the girls to dance dirty in front of him. Hottie Cass was very eager to do the task. She even pulled down Uma’s pants before she performed a lap dance for him. And of course, Uma cherished every moment of it. Chx also exhibited her dancing skills and shaked her booty for Uma. Racquel did the same thing. She shaked her belly to please the king. Jenny and Nene also displayed their talents in dancing.

But the situation changed when Uma asked Say to dance. He had a hard time convincing the kikay housemate. Say was very hesitant to do the lascivious act. Uma even demonstrated to Say how to dance dirty, but the latter was just not in the mood to follow the King. Uma then asked all the girls to face each other and dance together. This was too much for Say and she started to cry.

The entertaining activity then turned into a heated debate. Cass, who happily performed a lap dance for Uma, had a sudden change of heart. Cass started to cry and told Uma that she didn’t like what he asked them to do. “Alam mo Uma na love ka namin dahil ang bait mo sa amin. Kami kanina noong inuutusan namin lahat ng boys, hindi naman kami kabrutal mag-utos diba,” Cass explained.

Racquel also cried and told Uma that she didn’t like the ‘dirty-dancing’ idea right from the very start. But Uma did not believe the sincerity of Racquel and Cass. He said that they only cried because Say cried. He also accused them of sheding crocodile tears. Say then explained the reason why she cried, “I don’t do that. I don’t even dance like that. I don’t know how to do all that. And if my mom sees it, she’s gonna freak out.”

Uma clarified to the girls that it was only for the sake of fun that he asked to them to dance dirty, but the girls did not accept Uma's explanation. They walked out and stayed inside the living room to comfort each other.

Rico, the hunk from olongapo, made history yesterday when he became the first-ever housemate to be nominated for eviction from Pinoy Big Brother house.
Yesterday afternoon, Pinoy Big Brother made a shocking announcement concerning Rico’s future. He decided to nominate Rico for eviction after the latter showed unpleasant behavior inside his house.

'The X factors'
Pinoy Big Brother mentioned several unfavorable incidents that lead to his decision to nominate Rico. The first incident was, when Rico refused to follow his instruction not to take a bath. Last Saturday, because of his carelessness, Rico forgot to remove his lapel before he swam. He got his lapel microphone wet, causing permanent damage to the equipment.

Sunday morning, Rico again showed his carelessness when he almost set fire in the kitchen while cooking. The frying pan caught fire while he was preparing bacons for breakfast...at 2AM. And just yesterday afternoon, Rico disobeyed Big Brother again by not wearing his Pinoy Big Brother shirt for the dance marathon, which was a requirement for the challenge. He also showed his unpleasant behavior when he allegedly threw a stuff toy at a camera located in the boy’s bedroom.

Everytime he violated the house rules, Pinoy Big Brother summoned Rico to the confession room to get his side. The owner of the house also reminded him not to commit the same acts again. Apparently, Rico is a certified ‘pasaway’ and ignored Big Brother’s words.

Housemates’ reactions

Big Brother’s decision stunned not only Rico but all the other housemates. They were speechless after hearing the announcement. For a couple of minutes, silence reigned all over the house until Rico started talking. He explained to the group that he did not intentionally do those things.

Since they can’t do anything with Pinoy Big Brother’s decision, the housemates just reminded each other to be more mindful of the house rules. Cass told the group to be more cautious when using the stove and other equipment in the kitchen. Bob also told the housemates to always follow the house rules.

Who will save rico?

Although he faces eviction, this doesn’t mean that Rico will definitely leave the house on Saturday. The housemates still need to nominate another housemate to face eviction. Once there are already two nominated housemates, it will be up to the viewers who they want to save from eviction. They will do this by texting votes for the nominee that they still want to live in Pinoy Big Brother’s house. The nomination for the other housemate will happen this Friday. Voting will start immediately upon the announcement of the nominees by Pinoy Big Brother. The first-ever eviction will happen live on Saturday, September 3.

Tonight, Pinoy Big Brother will air the sentiments of the other housemates regarding Rico's nomination.

Housemates Reveal to Kuya Their Possible Nominations
Friday, September 02, 2005 10:46 AM

They already have their nominations. Ten housemates revealed to Kuya yesterday their POSSIBLE choices for the first ever Pinoy Big Brother Nomination Night.

As early as yesterday, Franzen, JB, Jason, Uma, Rico, Bob, Say, Cass, Nene and Racquel have already decided who they would possibly choose for the upcoming nomination, which will be held tomorrow night. Only Chx and Jenny remained puzzled as to whom they will select among the 12 housemates. The two told Pinoy Big Brother that they still need more time to think about the matter.

Reasons for their Nominations

The housemates gave two main reasons for their possible nominations. It’s either they don’t like the housemate or they feel that the housemate is a major threat against their survival inside the Pinoy Big Brother house.

Among the housemates who chose to nominate the persons that they think are threats to their ultimate survival inside the house are Rico, Racquel and Nene.

Other housemates wanted to eliminate the persons that they are not comfortable to live with inside the house

JB explained that although he has nothing against on some of the housemates, he stressed that he’s relationship with them is not that well. “Wala po kasi kaming napapag-uusapan, Kumbaga hindi ko po alam kung pano makarelate sila, ang ganun po rin sila siguro sa akin.”

Although they have different opinions on who they want to nominate, the twelve agreed on one thing; they are not yet ready to leave the Pinoy Big Brother House. They said that if ever they’re ousted from the contest, they will accept their fate but with a heavy heart.

“Siyempre masakit yun, pero kailangan kong tanggapin kasi mayroon talagang magiging winner dito. Tatanggapin ko na lang at magdadasal na lang ako na baka mayroon pa akong ibang chance,” Jenny explained.

The Final Nominations

The choices that the housemates made yesterday are not final and unofficial, Most of all, it has no bearing on what will be the outcome of the Nomination night tomorrow. Pinoy Big Brother only asked their sentiments on the upcoming nomination night. The only housemate that is sure to be nominated tomorrow is Rico, since Pinoy Big Brother already nominated him last Wednesday for showing unpleasant behavior inside the house.

The housemates still have more than a day to make their final choices. And a lot can still happen that might affect their decisions. One great factor that could influence their final nominations is the result of their Dance Marathon Challenge, which they will know today.

The First ever nomination night of Pinoy Big Brother will be aired live tomorrow on ABS-CBN at 9:30PM.

JB and Chx win in 1st Pinoy Big Brother Awards Night
Thursday, September 01, 2005 10:13 AM

JB and Chx bagged the Best Actor and Best Actress Awards last night in the 1st Pinoy Big Brother Awards Night. The two received the awards for their outstanding performances in the “acting na acting” activity held yesterday.

JB won the award for his role as the nagging husband of Racquel. His serious dramatic acting earned him the prestigious award. In yesterday’s presentation, JB had the caliber of a professional actor with the performance he demonstrated. His most famous line from the presentation was, “Wala ka (Racquel) nang ginagawa! Nagpapataba ka lang sa bahay! wala kang kasing taba! Binigyan mo nga ako ng dalawang anak, abnormal naman, maghahanap na ako ng ibang asawa.”

JB thanked his ‘kababayans’ in La Union during his acceptance speech. Chx, who won the best actress award for playing the role of a former girlfriend of a convict, gave a very “ms universe” acceptance speech when she received the award. “I just wanna thank everyone. I wasn’t expecting to win an award tonight. I just wanna thank my fans, my family, my friends and my special someone! And thank God for everything,” Chx said.

Other winners

The shy-type Franzen, also shined in yesterday’s task. His portrayal of a gay lover earned him the Best Supporting Actor award. He played the role of Markova, the lover of Jason in their group's presentation. Nene, who is known to be the most ‘astig’ among the girl housemates, won the best supporting actress award for her role as a police woman in her group's action-drama presentation.

Aside from the major awards, Cass and Rico took home the special awards for the night. Rico won the “Felix Bakat” award while Cass got the “Papaya” Award. The awards were given to them for displaying their magnificent bodies during the “acting na acting” activity. The two wore their revealing swimsuits during yesterday’s task.

The Awards Night

Uma and Jason, the hosts for the awards night, provided a warm reception for the nominees even if there was only an imaginary red carpet placed to welcome the rising stars.

As the hosts called their names, the housemates modeled their outfits. And even if their costumes were not created by Rajo Laurel or Inno Sotto, the housemates looked very lovely for the special night. They also pretended as major showbiz personalities by promoting their “movies” and answering showbiz intrigues about their careers. They also thanked their fans for showing their support.

Although not all of them won an award, the housemates certainly enjoyed their task yesterday. So be sure to watch their award-winning performances on Pinoy Big Brother tonight and see if these housemates have a chance to become the future Christopher De Leon and Vilma Santos of Philippine Cinema.

DESPITE a growing sense of disease and boredom, we made it a point to watch the daily telecasts of the new reality show, "Pinoy Big Brother," on its first week, to make sure that we would get a good overview of what it was about.

Well, after that long first week, we sense that the show is trying to show the evolution of human relationships in a stressful situation, like the 12 "residents" of the show's house-resort-prison. There are valuable lessons to be learned from such an "experimental," "laboratory" illustration of human psychology.

Positive attributes

Unfortunately, the show's potentially positive attributes and results are compromised by several negative factors: First, most of the 12 young men and women chosen aren't interesting as people-especially not when viewers are encouraged to gawk at their daily activities and proclivities for more than three months!

Many of them soon come off as immature, peevish, egocentric, and not very caring or imaginative-so, where's the attraction there?

Second, most of the big house's residents, especially the women, appear to have been chosen for their "liberated" attitude, so the show's worthy psychological intent is roundly and rudely upstaged by the residents' loose behavior and skimpy clothing.

Third, while the residents are given a variety of "interesting" things to do and challenging tasks to accomplish, their interest value isn't sustained because the 12 housemates' reactions and comments are generally predictable and shallow.

To balance the picture, the show does score plus points with its "confessional" portion, in which the residents talk to their mini-society's Big Brother, and unburden themselves of their private and personal hurts, resentments and angst.

Insights

But, the psychological insights gained from this portion are diminished by the voyeuristic attitude that the show encourages in viewers. Thus, the intent is not really to understand human nature, but to poke one's nosey proboscis into other people's affairs, to sniff out fetid controversies and scandals.

Compounding this cynical propensity, the residents were encouraged (until a recent clampdown, after some viewers complained) to be quite graphic in their conversations.

We get the feeling that the show is adding to its sizzle in these ways to generate controversy, thus viewership, thus high ratings, thus more commercials, thus bigger profits.

This is par for the TV course, but some viewers have been complaining because of its negative effect on young viewers.

To really turn the show around, it has to stress psychology over self-serving sizzle, and to make its proceedings genuinely interesting and eventful. The question is, does its production team have what it takes to do this?

LIKE, what is the draw of a show like Big Brother? Seeing strangers forced to live with each other? Seeing people fight over the tiniest ######? Seeing weird people do weird things? We already have Survivor, MTV’s Jackass, The Simple Life, and heck--Outback Jack. So why are people tuning in?

Well, the true draws of Big Brother are grit--it’s real reality, it’s seeing people like you and us react to real things, and the sex (The show’s too tame. Put it on cable TV so we can see real action!).

Pinoy Big Brother so far has neither of these. Yeah, it has all the reality show elements we love but it’s still a miss. Because just like everything else we see on the boob tube (censor that!), it banks on formulas, and safe decisions, and tons of crapola.

ABS-CBN did not bring Big Brother to the Philippines. They brought this limp show. They didn’t bring in Big Brother, a show that challenges norms and a show that is able to talk about things more than the love affair of Chx and Rico. The original Big Brother debuted abroad to reinvent. Pinoy Big Brother debuted to... well, we don’t know why.
But because both of us are addicted to umm, creepily funny shows, we decided to tune in anyway! Hooray for our determination!

This week, using an intricate and elaborate scoring system based on an extensive and well-thought of criteria composed of physical attributes, melodrama factor, and the ability to make us roll on the floor--we decide on the fate of seven selected housemates, as our right in this free country. This is, after all, how all vital things in the entertainment industry are decided.

Following this bad and mediocre flow sounds completely unhealthy, but screw it! It’s fun!

Uma
The guy appears to be the star of the show as he struts the house with his über-confidence and arrogance. After making the girls cry, he said sorry to only one girl, saying that the others who cried simply wanted to be a part of the drama. His dry humor aids him to win the Quotes of the Week award.

“Yosi! I want yosi!” (The girls give him a stick and a box of matches) “Hindi ako gumagamit niyan. I want a lighter!”

(Ordering the girls) “Sige sexy dance! Sexy dance kayo! Gusto ko parang lesbian!”

Quotes of the Week: 100
Drama avoidance bonus: 20

Say
After suggestively announcing in the pilot episode that she “will do anything” inside the house, Say cried after Uma made her dance seductively. The only other thing we noticed about her is that she brought more clothes than a United Nations Ambassador on a two-hour tour of a city. Yay!

Points for attempt at courageous trendsetting: 0

Deduction for making false promises for the horny-too-much-time-on-their-hands-guys demographic: -30

Jenny
Jenny appeared to be MIA (Missing-In-Action) for the past days, so we actually thought she was already evicted. Unfortunately, when we tuned in this week, she’s still there and blurted out what is probably the most subtle piece of dialogue ever.

(Teasing Jason, who spends a load of time in the bathroom) “Ikaw naman ang lagi laman ng toilet. Sa 100 days mo dito, 20 days sa toilet.”

Deduction for uncalled-for use of figurative language: -60

Rico
Rico is responsible for the hordes of cheese-ball that we have had the misfortune of seeing: he cries every night as he talks to the framed photo of his ex-gal, he sleeps with a teddy bear, he suddenly shifts into baby voice mode at random times, he throws the poor teddy bear at the cameras, and he refuses to follow instructions. He also walks around the house 90% of the time in his underwear. We predict an early exit.

Deductions for overexposure and assault with his dangerous weapon: -75

Racquel
Her I’m-the-oldest-so-treat-me-with-utmost-respect-fit-for-royalty attitude is ######. She’s bossy and most of her housemates want to plow her to death (sorry for that image we placed in your dirty minds). One time she suddenly burst into song belting “A Whole New World.” Annoying!!!

(Shouting at Rico, who’s inside the bathroom) “Tagal naman, baka abutan na kami ng pitompu’t pitong daang manok.” (Case closed. GET HER OUT OF THE HOUSE.)

Disharmony deduction: -150

Jason
With his Batangueño accent, Jason is both overly dramatic and effortlessly amusing, as proven by his runner-up quote of the week.

(Encouraging JB) “JB huwag tayong susuko, kaya natin yan, kaya natin yan pare.”

Dramatic runner-up quote of the week: 75

Cass
Uma describes her as “loka-loka” as she speaks her mind, puts on the most colorful set of clothes, and after dancing sensually and shamelessly for hours, suddenly cries in a corner and says that her dignity was offended. Awww. Not.

(After Uma tells her that he’s gonna ask her hand for marriage after the show) “Hindi ko kaya ibigay! Eh ’di wala na akong kamay, anong gagamitin ko ’pag kumakain ako?”

Deduction for stating the obvious: -40
