Hi everyone, I was wondering if you would be able to help me...

I have a really good vietnamese friend at university, and I've noticed that she has been a bit upset recently. I just want to cheer her up icon_smile.gif.

I was wondering if someone would be able to translate this text for me. Recently her old boyfriend visited her so maybe it has something to do with that?

"đanh đá đúng người đúng việc không sao, chua ngoa thừa thãi không khác mấy việc phóng uế ngoài đường. đùa vui đúng lúc đúng nơi không sao, vui đùa báng bổ, lỗ mãng không khác lấy búa bổ vào cái mồm ăn nói sai chỗ "

Many thanks in advance, James

I'm pretty sure she wrote it herself. What does it mean?

This is probably a buddhist mantra that people get from a prayer box. Basically, it said that even the best joke is not funny when it's out of context, and some teeth might be lost on such occasion.

I think it basically means "speak the right thing in the right place at the right time".

it's an insult to a person with profound meaning and the person who wrote this is not easy.

Thanks everyone. Is it referring to a guy or girl or isn't it possible to tell?

there is little indication that something the guy on "garbage" level could do rather than girl.
