Where are you in Michigan, near Detroit?

I'm from Detroit, but I've been living in NYC for the past year or so.
Im back in Michigan now, been here since a couple of days ago. I still hate it.

You know, a couple of years ago I may have tried to defend it. Now, it's like who am I trying to fool? Yes, it sucks with no remorse.

I just want to go back to NY as soon as possible. I actually feel more secure in NYC (even the bad parts) than here.

I'm in Macomb..At times, I say Michigan sucks..But it's all good...

I live in Chicago suburbs and have driven to Michigan a few times. I was actually by Midwest's house and didn't know it

I used to live in Detroit..Lolz..But that is kinda true..It's kinda lookin bad down there..My Dad even said so himself..A few days ago, I was down in Detroit to help out for a party..And My Dad was at work, and he called my Cell and said "Don't go outside too much. If you do, don't stay out there for too long"

^Yea, that's why we moved to MN. Detriot is like murder capital.

We moved because me and my brother were getting older and stuff..And cause we needed a bigger house..Cause at my old house..We had my Dad and his 3 brothers with their wife and kids..Along with my GrandParents..

So yeahh...We're half an hour or so away from Detroit..

You lived in Detroit or some place like Livonia or Oak Park or something? What neighborhood?

my brother and father stopped by to get gas in flint, michigan at night once..they said it was very interesting..

Flint is mini Detroit, at least they don't have it on as big of a scale

i used to live in grand rapids, in western Michigan

Sick! one of my classmates used to live in Grand Rapids, and she said it's just a lame old hell-hole. She's Vietnamese, and she said there aren't too many East Asians living in Grand Rapids. She also said Michigan people in general are racist. Well, I wouldn't talk as there are a lot of hicks here in Indiana. If I'm not mistaken, Indiana has the most percentage of registered KKK organizations in the whole US!

I am a current UMichigan student living in Ann Arbor.

I like the college town atmosphere. But I hate the mentality and demeanors of the locals here. They're very boring, conservative, and even rude to Asians. That's what I think.

I'm originally from California. So it's a totally different life living here in the Great Lakes area.
