LOL, was just kidding adi. Don't think I can be of much help. You might want to start by trying the Tourism Malaysia people on Jalan Ampang. That converted mansion near the Zouk nightclub. Assuming that you're based in KL lah. All the best!

Some vessels ferrying tourists to island resorts in Trengganu are notorious for overloading. A few yrs back one of them sank on the way to the mainland.
Another boat who came to their rescue made the tourists pay first while they were still in the water.

im new here and hope u r still around adimar

1) i think perhentian still stands out by far the best among your choices though u didn mention anything bout it. i havent been there for about a year so hopefully it havent changed much. Perhentian kecil is a tiny lil island and it is not too commercialized and good for relaxation. Lang Tengah is also good whereby it the coral reefs are still pretty intact and not damaged badly.
2)Europians/Americans during May onwards till around August whereby it is summer or something there.THey tend to like the beaches around in Malaysia for the sun.
3) dont have too many infrastructures and buildings whereby building more of those concrete buildings it tend to have more pollution. With pollution it will kill the corals. And they dont really dispose the garbage and excess building materials properly.
4) same as no3.... too many hotels and such which are expensive as well.... keep it neat and small like perhentian kecil where its mostly small resorts and cheap backpacking spots. Pollution is bad as well and its generally malaysians with the "tidak apa" attitude

i love the islands in malaysia...i think they r really beautiful
im not really sure of their names though..but ive seen some of the real pictures that my friend took while he was doing some project in terengganu..he's a photographer from US and the pictures that he took were really good..they were not the ones that were like those used for advertisement..those are like real pictures without any editing job done..it was almost like real experiance kind of pictures!!!
i think the best way to make the island a great attraction is to make sure that the the place is always clean..(not mentioning the good clean smell..pure smell..or whatever u call it)...imagine you as a tourist..u come up to a place and what would u first want to experiance??..of course how clean the place is..how pure the air feels and stuff..
and y cant we give the tourist a better water ride??..like i remember that last time when i was small we were cheated by this boat guy and all of us had to be on a fisherman's boat instead!!!..so i think that a better boat ride..like the better organized ones..

Heheh, don't be such a kambing lah! I like to go to Perhentian for snorkelling, Langkawi just to chill and drive to all the kampungs. More often than not, it's always Tioman and the neighbouring islands whenever my relatives from down south visit. I keep tellimg myself to take up diving, what with all the beautiful underwater scenery that Malaysia has. And the Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand too.

Speaking of islands/beaches, what do you guys think of the Hard Rock Cafe Hotel to be built in Port d!ckson. I was really surprised. It would be only the third HRC hotel in SEA, apart from the ones in Bali and Pattaya. Wouldn't Penang or Langkawi offer better beach surroundings. They could build one near Tanjung Bunga/Feringgi Beach in Penang and anywhere really in Langkawi. I know they want to attract the KL and Singapore crowds, but Port d!ckson?!

Pulau Rawa Fracas: Eyewitness pins blame on rowdies
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 20:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A regional director of a multinational company who was a guest at the wedding of an expatriate at Pulau Rawa which turned ugly last Sunday, has alleged that the statement given by a spokesman for a neighbouring resort is “completely false”.
In an e-mail to The Malay Mail/Sunday Mail executive editor, the Singapore-based director said he was present at the wedding at the Rawa Safari Resort in Johor and is willing to give a sworn statement on what transpired.
“What the spokesman for La Club Resort said is completely false,” he wrote.
The spokesman for La Club Resort, which is adjacent to the Rawa Safari Resort, had claimed that the expatriates had invited four local men, including a member of the Johor royal family, to the wedding after a game of beach volleyball at La Club Resort.
“They were never invited and the fight was started by the member of the royal family, when a lady refused to dance with him and he punched her on the mouth,” said the director whose name is being withheld by this paper for the moment.
“The victim’s husband reacted and this started the fight. I was present throughout the ordeal and I am scandalised by the attitude of these men who are working in the hospitality industry and by the statement made by the spokesman of La Club Resort.
“As for his claims that we could have overpowered the attackers, we decided not to do so because we didn’t want to risk our lives. They were armed and in an altered state, and in this situation they could have stabbed to death one or more of us.”
Meanwhile, NST reports that market analyst Andre Duarte, 31, whose dream wedding at RSR was marred by the four men, said he does not harbour any ill feelings towards Malaysia although he wants the four men to be punished.
“The authorities should ensure that other visitors to the island do not face the same situation as it has tarnished the image of caring and friendly Malaysians,” said Duarte, speaking from Bangkok where he is now on honeymoon.
Yesterday, Mersing police chief Deputy Superintendent Nor Azizan Anan said investigations are under way.
In the Sunday incident, the four local men apparently gate-crashed Duarte’s private wedding party. Duarte, who is based in Singapore, had invited 90 friends and relatives from 16 countries.
The leader of the four gatecrashers is alleged to have asked the women to dance with him and when they refused, were punched and kicked. The leader, a young man, also claimed Pulau Rawa belonged to him and he could shut everything down.
Despite attempts to send the leader and his group away, he kept coming back and returned with five others and attacked the tourists with whatever they could get their hands on, including a knife.
Two women and four male guests in the wedding party were injured, including Duarte’s brother who suffered cuts to his forehead and left eyelid. The expatriates checked out of the resort on Sunday and lodged police reports in Mersing.
‘They were invited to the wedding’
HERE’s what the La Club Resort spokesman said, as reported in The Malay Mail yesterday.
“Four men, comprising an official of La Club Resort and three workers, were invited by the expats to the wedding.
“During the party, one of our club members was chatting with an expatriate woman guest when he was attacked by another man.”
“That was when the fracas broke out,” he said, adding that the 90-odd guests could have easily overpowered them if it was true that they had started the fight.
The spokesman claimed the four were just enjoying themselves with the wedding guests when the burly Westerners turned unruly.
“First, they invite them and then they accuse them of starting a fight,” he said.
“Now they have got our men arrested. It is truly unbecoming of them.”
The four men have been remanded for five days in connection with the incident.

Victims of Pulau Rawa brawl refuse to come forward
KUALA LUMPUR, Sat
Investigations into the alleged assault of foreigners on Pulau Rawa last month have ground to a halt for an unlikely reason: the reluctance of victims to answer questions.
Although police have extended the remand of four men, including a member of the Johor royalty, to Dec 17, none of the victims have come forward to help police.
Mersing police chief Deputy Superintendent Azizan Anan said none of the victims had responded to police requests to cross the Causeway for an interview.
"We are still waiting to interview the Brazilian couple and other eye-witnesses to the incident," he said.
The men were alleged to have gate-crashed a wedding gathering on Oct 15 and brawled with guests from Australia, Europe and Brazil who were currently working in Singapore.
"Their interviews are essential to our investigations, and they gave us their assurance they would assist," Azizan said.
Meanwhile, some of the foreigners contacted by the NST said they did not intend to come for the interviews.
