Foreigner tagged in killing of ABS-CBN TV director
Police launched a manhunt for a Caucasian man suspected of shooting and killing a television director of ABS-CBN network in Makati before dawn Wednesday.
Investigators did not disclose the identify of the foreigner who fled on a Ford Explorer (XTW 280) after shooting Luigi Santiago outside Venezia Bar in Glorietta II, Ayala Center around 4:20 a.m. The fatality was identified as program director of the horror "Nginiig!" TV series.
Police are now coordinating with the Land Transportation Office to locate the owner of the vehicle.
Aside from the fatality, five other people, including a policeman, were wounded in the shooting. They were identified as Senior Inspector Gertrudi Budaņo, commander of a nearby police community precinct, Mary Ann Santano, Arnel Henteroni, Carlson Yu and Pia Albeso. They are all recuperating at the Makati Medical Center.
Arthur Katipunan, Santiago's program producer, said the director was in a meeting with assistant director Cesar Arellano inside the bar when the suspect went on a shooting rampage. It was learned that the man was beaten up by unidentified of men earlier at the bar.
