It's here! MTV Desi, a music video-centric channel totally dedicated to the sounds, style and everything else absolutely essential to young South-Asian Americans

it must be for UK or Dubai desis...cuz i dont see a listing for this channel in the states.

the channel is catered exclusivlely to indian americans, and other desis.

This is specifically for indians living in america. it is on DirectTv now, and will be in cable later some time next year i think.

I read somewhere that MTV is also planning a MTV Chi (targeted at Chinese-Americans) and MTV K (targeted at Korean-Americans) to follow later.

MTV Desi is the first step in their Asian-American-targeting.

Has anyone been watching the channel? What do you think of it?

Unfortunately i don't have DirectTV I have comcast, but it is supposed tohave a lot of homegrown(american produced) programmes, plus some produced in India, along with Desi British programmes, and the regular bollywood stuff. It should be interesting.
