Saint Legends
Well, one day I was surfin' the web and I came across a J-rock band called The Alfee (an 30 yr. old band still going strong today, I think), and the guitarist of this band, Toshihiko Takamizawa, has these beautiful angel guitars:

Angel

Maria Angel

Aube Angel

Venus Angel

Rose Angel

Maria

Pipe Organ

Flying A-III Angel

SEC Angel
Saint Legends
sorry for the double post, but I couldn't fit the last picture on the first post:

Heart Angel

My favorites are Rose Angel (both red and blue), Venus Angel, and Heart Angel. biggrin.gif

None of those guitars have single coil pickups from what I can tell. How would humbuckers effect your ability to play them in the first place? In any case, they all look like @$$. Beautiful guitars use wood with clear finishes.

Here's a few basses, which I problem some of the most beautiful instruments luthiers put out.

did the guy convert to christian?

I doubt it. He's probably into that whole Christian themed things. Like how alot of anime has Christian themes in it even if it is totally made up bs.

Yeah, I don't think they're a Christian band. They did the theme song for Galaxy Express 999.

@KoRn: That's what I was thinkin' as well. It seems like it'd be awkward to play one of those. But I guess he manages somehow. He's actually really good, from what I heard. Anways, I don't think he uses them very often. He has normal guitars up for sale on that site. Only the Rose Angels and Heart Angel guitar are for sale outta the Angel collection.

I also saw a pic of him with a guitar shaped like a sword. That looked pretty cool.

I would be cracking up if Slayer or Deicide (old satanic bands of the late 80's-90s) decided to pick up these for a concert.

Christian rock is so fukking stupid along with gospel rap. The Maria one has got to be the ugliest piece of $hit I've ever seen

haha, no, christian death metal is far more retarded. what a fu-king oxymoron. growling about your love of christ with scary demonic vocals.

yep, those guitars look fu-king ridiculous. as pieces of art they're nice. but nope angels and Jesus ain't rock n roll
First_Born
Theres Christian Death metal?????????????????? What the fukk, almost a double jeapordy, gotta show love for god but not piss off satan at the same time. I agree, they are art but other than that blah.

yep, $hit man. for just about every category of music, there's a christian equivalent. fu-kin ay, talk about a lack of originality. if your gonna be spoutin about your beliefs at least make up your own genre of music instead of coattailing another genre and slapping the "Christian" label on it
Brian T
Well you can look at it that way. Or you could look at them as a death metal band that just happens to have Christian lyrics. I personally don't think they set out to make a Christian death metal band. They played the music they like and sang/screamed the lyrics that came to mind. Those happen to be about god. Would you be b!tching about it if they wrote lyrics about the devil despite how fu-king cliche that is? Probably not.
First_Born
But growling in death metal usually means the devil's voice and/or alot of anger.

Well you can be angry for god or something. In the old testament he's suppose to be all wrathful and stuff. You could scream angrily about the lack of morality possibly. The lyrics from most of that stuff isn't like:

Jesus I love you!
You're the best!
Everybody celebrate the rock of ages!

I personally think it's dumb to limit what you can write about to some stereotypical crap. I'd rather listen to some guy b!tching about immorality then going

666!
Devil!
Petroleum jello
I'm going to get you to hire
the devil cuz I'm on fire

What are you talking about? Are you talking about a particular band or Christian Death metal as a whole? I'm sure some bands do and some bands do it just to create their own niche and set it apart from actual death metal

Death metal didn't originally have anything to do with worshipping Satan or any theological influence. You're confusing that with black metal, and even then not all black metal has anything to do with Satan. And yeah I do b!tch about the bands that do it in seriousness because it is cliche. Anything overdone, deserves to be b!tched about.
KoRn
No death metal is mostly gore influenced metal and violent themes. Black metal is the type of metal dealing mostly with satanic themes and such. Black metal often speaks of paganism as well as immorality and NSBM (Nationalist Socialist Black Metal) has the themes of preservation of culture, Nazi ideals, etc.

[edit] plenty of christian metalcore bands exist as well. By the way, an example of a "Christian" death metal band would be Zao. Though they kind of emit the "We're christian but we can rock on with the rest of u" vibe.

I find it interesting that some people seem think they know everything there is to know about rock or rap music genres.....

I once saw a Les Paul with a transparent body, quite nice to look at but costly as well (>10k). Thing is, there are more expensive models out there!
