Im planning to goto Japan next year. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on what the best things to do in Japan are? e.g. what foods do i need to try, what places to visit, what activities need to be tried, etc etc. Thank you!

On my first visit we went to as many of the temples as possible, and Osaka castle. It was great! Of all the places we went, I liked Kyoto the best. What a beautiful city.

As for food, go to a curry house. love2.gif The curry there is great! It's a safe bet too.

Whew! I just visited the local McDonalds, KFC and pizza joints (funny how they were confused about how to make a simple pepperoni pizza with extra cheese!).

I shamefully admit that my useless self did visit the Pizza hut express occasionally. Damn, they know how to make pizza! So much better than over here.

When you leave Japan, you'll miss their pizza huts. embarassedlaugh.gif

I wonder if they are like Korean pizza huts. I do recall it being better. And the pickles!

What do you wnat to do while in Japan? It would help if you tell me what it is you want to see. But as for the basics you should try to eat the local food.

There's:
-Ramen noodles of course
-curry(the curry house thing is a good suggestion)
-takoyaki (octopus balls)
-monjya yaki (this as far as I know is only available in Japan and not yet here in the US but basically its flour and starch and you fry it and get a gooey pancake sort of thing. Looks weird but tastes great!)
-Drink! well if you are old enough.

Places to see will depends on what part of Japan you go to. Well enjoy!

bring A LOT of money japan is as expensive as hell, if Asia was a monopoly game Japan might be part of the boardwalk
Jaimu-Jaimu
^ It seemed alot cheaper than England anyway. embarassedlaugh.gif
Adee
^yeah, London is like the most expensive place in the whole world at the moment. icon_rolleyes.gif

Also they sell loadsa Gundam models.
Jaimu-Jaimu
^ Glad I don't live there but all of UK is expensive. It's a little better up North though. embarassedlaugh.gif

(In Japan) You HAVE to go to Disney Land, it's SO cool. embarassedlaugh.gif

Tokyo disneyland was made out of garbage. Much like Staten Island in NYC. Thought I would throw in some interesting facts. Kansai Airport may be closing in the next couple of years. The airport is literally "sinking" into the ocean so it might be nice to get off there instead of narita.

wow, your so lucky, well bring toilet paper and soap.
