Really good Japanese romantic movies are...

Ima Ai ni Yukimasu (Be with you)

Sekai No Chuushin De, Ai Wo Sakebu (Crying Out, In The Center Of The World)...the dorama for this was better but the movie is good too.

Can you link me to the Sekachuu movie with English subtitles? I finished the drama recently and I've been dying to watch the movie, although I'm not expecting much from it. The original novel is coming out in English sometime this year too. biggrin.gif

Anyone know where you can turn in movie ideas for filmmakers? embarassedlaugh.gif

US need to make a "Go for Broke" remake.....A WW2 movie featuring the Japanese-American battalion.

Also, Japan, with all these crazy movie Ideas, should make a cool historical type movie about the Mongol Invasion. Maybe put in a love story or some crap in between with the main character....but mostly I wanna see Mongols, VS Samurai, and have a cool night scene where the Japanese sneak into the Mongol ships to slaughter mongols.

^ Too big a production for a Japanese movie.

Hollywood basically wiped out big-budget Japanese moviemaking in the 1980s. Japan can no longer sustain a mega-budget movie industry that can compete with Hollywood.

Of course they can...everyday they are making stupid movies with CGI and all that crazy crap....some are actually kinda good...

How hard is it to make a NORMAL historical movie about the mongol invasion. embarassedlaugh.gif

actually now that you mention hollywood........HOLLYWOOD NEEDS to make a mongol invasion movie....taking place in Europe. The mongols would be the perfect bad guys!

Anyways, anyone seen "Zebraman" yet?

How bout "Godzilla Final wars" ?
I'm not a Godzilla fan (never seen one except back when I was little) but I hear it's actually good. Can't wait for it to come out on EBAY! embarassedlaugh.gif2

I heard "Waterboys" is a gay movie....literally gay, meaning homosexual, not bad.....is it?

It was so boring....

I thought it was gonna be a cool action Sci-fi movie with a beautiful world in the background....well it was kinda....but it was so boring! And the action was dumb too!
Maybe Anime lovers like it...

CGI hasn't reached a level where it's so real it could fool you, but Asian CGI is crap compared to American. No offense...but it really is....That's why it's only good when used in moderation....

definitely check-out BATTLE ROYALE. it is great entertainment... about a bunch of high schools kids that need to kill each other to survive.

Akira Kurosawa’s Ran, Kagemusha, and Seven Samurai. That’s the only Japanese movies I watched apart from Godzilla, Gamera, and Rodan Movies. If you like massive samurai battles, I would recommend Ran and Kagemusha. They’re better than the historically inaccurate Last Samurai movie. There’s also another movie called “Heaven and Earth” about Takeda Shingen’s army and Uesugi Kenshin’s army battling it out in the Kawanakajima plain in the Shinano province during the Sengoku Jidai. I haven’t seen the movie but the screenshots on this site have massive battles in it.

yes! I second your choices. Those 3 are very great.
By Kiyoshi Kurosawa, I'd add Kairo, Charisma. I still haven't seen License to Live, I've just checked the beginning and I know it's supposed to be a good one. Cure and Korei was okay, but I prefer the ones I've mentioned.

Also another two that I loved Eureka by Shinji Aoyama and Shara by Naomi Kawase.
Rocky Cuong V
I've heard Japanese make some pretty hectic porn.

Battle Royal is the shiz. Anyone know where i can get BR 2?
