you know some other asian races think they know us so well, they can criticize us and say this n that. they know nothing, they think they do, THEY KNOW NOTHING. us filipinos don't be going around saying this n that to them, we keep it cool and real. some people are real nice and cool, and some are just so ignorant and stupid. but you know...we just gotta stick together and be good to others even if they don't do the same back....iono....but lots of other asians are cool but just a few tend to be so mean. if they don't understand us, i hope they'll make more friends with our people and get to know how we ROLL, hahaha JK...understand us, cause we're all only humans...maybe it's ignorance and maybe it's something else but oh well, i'll just tell myself IT'S HOW THE WORLD IS LIKE...if you think about it, we're not alone. hahaha...like few Japanese and chinese don't get along , etc etc...but then we're just gonna have to stay strong and real-and don't get upset immediately if someone says something disrespectful or rude...just keep your cool and be mature about it cause fire can't fight fire...water can. and the dark cannot outshine the darkness, only the light can so...just be polite about those things and correct their misunderstandings cause sometimes people just misunderstand and twist it around, but that's why we gotta step in and correct it, IN A GOOD WAY.

I grew up with Koreans and Filipinos in LA, and I noticed how Vietnamese people like to criticize Filipinos alot, but they tend to be very ignorant and pig headed.

Yes this is true unfortunately, i remember back in highschool filipinos would always get into fights with chinese,indiano, vietnamese etc. There is ignorant people everywhere though and i for one will never try to lump one people as one. LOl the only peeps we always seem to get along with was the latinos, they always had our backs.

yeah it is. i've noticed asians seem to be hyper sensitive to race and racial pride to the extent that groups like the KKK and black panthers seem like junior high after school clubs. you don't see this with europeans or latin american countries......you get that a lot in africa but that's more the result of post-colonialism......what's up with the asians though? just curious.

Asians are blinded by over-nationalistic pride. It's as simple as that. Some asians are quick to call out 'supremacy' over other asians and vice versa. Moreso seen in terms of skin colour and genetic makeup. There's very little asian unity, since asian countries tend to keep themselves homogeneous societies instead of being pluralistic. The only asian 'diversity' I've witnessed is seen in westernized countries like the US or Canada, yet even then we have asian gangs and asian vs. asian violence. It's really disheartening.

I wouldn't discourage him. Not alot of people bother to learn about their cultural history and heritage. It's never too late though. Filipino history (as a country), regardless of its young age, is certainly a fascinating subject.

I spend last year in Australia studying, living with a South Korean, Chinese(Hong Kong) and a Japanese. The Korean guy had no problem with any other asians whatsoever. The Chinese and the Japanese seemed to have a problem with not only Filipinos but South East Asians in general. It was sort of random expressions of how they felt about Filipinos, a lot of stereotyping and stupid comments here and there... The guy from Hong Kong even asked if the Philippines was part of Asia...

I think espcially in Japan there is a strong sense of nationalism which sometimes turns into predjudism against other asians e.g. poorer regions of Asia.

And about Filipinos not saying "this n that" is not true in the case where I live, i've had filipinos being racists towards me because of my white side(im half)

Never met one , its actually the other way around..I know alot of filipinos who mock other asians, i wont say wat my friends say to mock them but i always tell my friends that is not cool..lolz the only asians that were not really close here are the viets and Cambo cos filipinos and them have this language barrier, most of filipinos speak English and alil french, in the other hands, cambos and viets are fluent in French but have difficulty in English..we dont really hang out with each other..

about foreigners discriminating Filipinos (foreigners, as in people who belong outside the Philippines),never encountered one yet. the only foreigner that i have met (not that foreign actually) is a classmate of mine (half chinese half filipino). he has too much pride on himself (actually, he goes boasting around almost to the point that he's telling everyone that he's superior than them, which is most likely not). however, when it comes to other nationality, he considers himself a Filipino and mocks other races (seems like he has too much pride in himself and that he considers himself a filipino too much that it goes to the extent of being saomewhat a kind of a racist).

He was 17 but had a mentally like a 10 year old...

I don't really give a fukk about those insecure cokksuckers who compensate for their personal inadequacies by bashing other Asians. Having pride in one's heritage is fine with me, but to belittle others just to make them feel better about themselves is just low. It's indicative of how their shortcomings are subconsciously haunting them.

The Asians in my area that I'm closest to the most are the ABCs and the recent immigrant Chinese mainlanders. Most of the mainlanders at work have PhDs, but they don't have that snobby and boastful attitude other Phd holders have. I was surprised at first of the fact that they are actually very nice. It's funny that half of them are women, nice looking ones too. Beauty and brains, a total distraction for me at work. Damn!

Filipinos are 'racist' to other "Filipinos". How do lowlanders view the Igorots? for most part they see them as poor, barbaric and uncivilized mountain people.
