since the philippines is the birth place of the american yo-yo, do filipinos over there have the most sophisticated yo-yo and are the filipinos over there masters of never-before-seen yo-yo tricks? where is the oldest surviving yo-yo in the philippines? is it spiked since i heard the yo-yo started out as a ancient weapon used by the tribes of the islands... are there sketches of this?

I'm not sure about the calibur of professional Yo-yo players in the Philippines, but from what I've seen from Japan, they're probably the best at it. From my knowledge at least, the Yo-yo was only used as a weapon for hunting rather than the source of a hobby or pastime.
