Hi there,
I suppose u are looking for a leader in respect to the current post-independence India.

Without a doubt, the greatest Indian leader has been Mohandas KaramChand Gandhi... aka Mahatma Gandhi. His influence helped India gain independence from the British Raj. His non-violence movement has resonated all around the world. There is no doubt that Gandhi is not only one of the greatest Indian leaders but also a greatest in his time.

You will find lot of info to on the net on Gandhi to help u finish ur project with ease icon_wink.gif

Sirikittong
You do not consider Indira Ghandi one of the best?
kkdkckrl
Indira is autocratic, and she is personally responsible for dynasties, and clan politics in india. She is way down on my list.

do you guys like the original ghandi? whats your view on him?

I personally don't care much for him. While I respect what he did for India, I have major disagreements with his ideology and many of his key views.

I consider Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose to be a much greater leader.

I don't think, Nehur handpicked his daugher to his successor. It was rather congressmen, who wanted to use the Gandhi name as a way to win elections and then use her as a gudiya. Indira on the other hand groomed her older son to be her successor, but when he died, she tried to push Rajiv into politics. So, she started it.
