why do so many people in Japn love David Beckham hes not that good at football and i think hes way to commercial so why do so many people in asia like him??

Beckham's life outside the pitch may indeed be a circus, but it still doesn't change the fact he is one of the best midfielders whose presence actually influence a team. He's one of the best(if not the best) during dead-ball opportunities, his crosses and long range passes are dead on accurate for the forwards, and his work rate is absolutely inspiring for his teammates. Even after he was placed in a central midfield role(after his transfer to MAdrid), he's adapted to his new position on the pitch without breaking a sweat and this has actually upgraded him into a multiplayer. He can now play not only in his usual position on the right, but in the center as well. He's an impact player who shows up on matches that matter and are the most important. That is what seperates good players with great ones. Players who can change the tide of a game because of their presence. Just take a look at his impressive form for Real Madrid(the punk @$$ bltches that they are) this season. He proved many detractors wrong by tearing apart La Liga this year. He is an integral part of their midfield and has been absolutely instrumental for the Madridista's run towards the treble.

The backlash against him all throughout his career is so obviously misguided. A lot of people hate on him only because they want to be different from the pact without really having a clue as to how much of a great MF he is.

But then again, I don't think the Japanese love him for those reasons above and is more because of his looks. They did in fact build a statue of him after the 2002 World Cup.
