I might to go to Japan this summer... what should I do there?

hey im going to japan too this summer. okinawa to be exact. hey maybe i'll see ya there ....i also would like to know what there is to do in japan.

what to do? you can do anything you want over there...........within reason... that is... how about try out some of the skate parks there? then tell me how they are lol.. you could always keep it real with the ladies and go to movies with them.. no i do0n't mean be a perv and mac on them. just be a gentleman.. arcades? hmm.. those are everywhere.. you could try doing karaoke and impress some of the girls or make the guys jealous? youi could run up and shoot an american soldier in the leg and scream at him hahaha ... hmm... you could... walk through parks and look at all the sakura trees... eat good food.. hmm.. just be open minded and willing to try new things and you'll have a blast

My and a couple of friends are also planning on visiting Japan this summer then spending a week in Hong kong. I would love to go to an arcade in Japan. Long live SNK!!!!!!!

Sakura, have you even been to Japan? What you have said is extremely generic.

I've only mainly only spent my time in two prefectures. Tokyo and Iwate. Iwate is probably your stereotypical picturesque image of rural Japan with the rolling hills and oceanfront while Tokyo is well Tokyo.

Lots of stuff to do. Now tell us, where are you actually going?

Depending when you arrive, I'm sure there will be festivals going on at one point or another, so I suggest you should check those out. I know you're a guy Cevil, but I think you should give Shibuya a try, it's a huge shopping district in Tokyo (I've never been to Japan myself, but I've seen pictures, and Shibuya is like the Times Square of New York City!), if you want to see something pretty off the wall and unusual, then go to Harukuju, a place where many fans of visual kei will dress up almost exactly like their favorite band member, you'll also find gothic lolitas and other people who like to cosplay. These girls simply hang out and will let just about anybody take a picture of them, it's what they do for fun.

Try out their pizzas, I heard they replace the tomato sauce with octopus ink, and put odd toppings like potatoes and corn. Hmm, and tell me how the McDonalds there are like, hehe.

I think Japanese arcades would be fun, they have the best toys and gadgets that you probably won't see anywhere else. Such as this:

Oh yeah, apparently the 7-11s there are like the perfect representation of what a corner store SHOULD be. High quality service AND food, lol.

And lastly, I think you should check out the different kind of candies they have, because Japanese candies are pretty unique ^_^

Yes, the japanese did implement the "asia for asians", this is only an excuse. If they really want "asia for asians" look at them what they have threat to other peoples especially chinese. They think we're not human! To be honest, sometime when i think of it, i just get extremely angry.

Cevilgenius, where in Japan will u be visting?
One thing that u MUST do in Japan is to make a
visit to an onsen(hot spring)
And also instead of staying in hotels, why don't u stay in
those ryokan?(traditional Japanese inn)
And if u are in Tokyo, u can visit the world famous
Mt Fuji and also Tokyo DisneyLand.

Japan is special, cause it offers its own sort of entertainment (IMO). Especially if you know japanese, or know the area (not me -_-) When I went there the tour guide was like "Don't expect much here," but it was pretty cool. I mean other places are mostly overrated or just boring for me (i.e. Visit this, visit that). In Japan it was different, just like Taiwan hehe

If I were to visit japan, I would buy $hit loads of hentai and japanese porn. lol

If you were to go to tokyo you would really enjoy yourself then I suppose. But not all of japan is like tokyo do not be fooled by that ridiculous stereotype.

If you wanted to go to Tokyo for that stuff, it would be Roppongi.

For the complusive shopper; Shinjuku, Aoyama and Harajuku would be for you. People around our age (Im assuming you're within the 18-25 age group) usually are in Shibuya. Ginza is the hi-tech area and Asakusa for the old historical stuff.

Thats about it for the districts of Tokyo that I can remember. I usually stay in Saitama-ken north which is north of the capital. Its a nice place, perhaps as close to a Japanese suburb as you'll find. Dunno if thats a good or bad thing.

and of course it's fun to stay in ryokan, those traditional hotels and visit hot springs!!
that is if i was going. ^^... darn i wanna go now...but that wont be for a while...T_T
