OH SORRY I FORGOT ( this is for elementary school) primary first year I'm not sure what you would call it in Japan.

English teacher in japan are idiots anyway. Most can't find a job at home, so they go to China, Vietnam, Thailand, Japan to find an English teaching job. Most pretend to like their job, but their main purpose is to score some asian girl anyway.

Have you ever heard an Asian person speak english? yes like craps. Where do they learn english from? English teacher, of course.

and yes I am now currently a teacher

but I'm a subsutitute teacher I havent earned my early childhood development degree yet and my japanese is only level two so I have a log ways to go and I was just hoping someone here who has lived in japan or know the real Japan could tell me a few secrects other than scoring ( I'll have time for that later) so I can keep what need to be done in order to become a good english teacher in Japan

so far: kindergarden, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, special needs(spec ed), learning disorders, behavior disorders, office work(filing), P.E., librarian. I think thats it.

JAPANESE many can hardly speak englisg themselves...learn some FACTS before you generalize.

as long as you are fluent in english you can teach english in japan. a degree in anything helps, but is not necessary. you dont even have to be a native speaker. you make about 30,000 US for the year. you request your top 3 cities to teach in and your assigned to one. teaching english in japan is a joke because its not about learning the language, but rather just passing the test.
so dont go in there expecting to change the lives of the students and what not. all students are required to take 6 years of english, but its all writing and grammer and no conversation.

For the most part the English teachers I have know have ranged from pre-med student, lawyers, honor students, comp studies, etc etc. They all have a degree, and many plan on do graduate work after wards. Now, given that there are all types, yes there are some jerks and idiots. But for the most part people who go teach English in Asia are normal, and have normal intelligence. However, those who make blanket comments like yours tend to not be so sharp or bright.

Next, most of them can find work back home. There are some, and I will admit like myself who were in the situation that there was not any work(I am a high school teacher back in Canada, there were no positions, I had the choice between working in Northern Canada, or Japan, I took Japan). However most English teachers I have met have either just left univ and wanted to pay off their students loans, or have left behind professional jobs to experience Asia.

Yes some come here with a fix on getting with Japanese women. However, again from my experience it did not matter what race they were. Yet if you are here in Japan chances are that the person you are going to date is going to be Japanese, unless there are some racial issues and you make sure you date only within your race. For the sake of the human race I suggest you stay celebate(I assume your are celebate, maybe not by choice, but I assume you are nonetheless).

Next, you try learning a language in isolation, and see how well you speak it. Saying Asian's English is crap is a unfair. Actually given the circumstances many speak it quite well. It has very little to do with who is teaching them. Yes, granted again some people who teach English here in Japan are unprofessional and do a very bad job, but for the most part English teachers do a good job in teaching.

You last comment to me is a real indication of your intelligence, . Who in the shag else are they suppose to learn English from? Do you go to a chef when you want that wart removed from your nose? Well, imsofine you might, but most normal intelligent people would go to a doctor. So if you want to learn English, maybe you should go to an English teacher.

Lastly, to tell you how stupid I am. I am so stupid I gave up the chance of substitute teaching for 5 years or so, until I worked myself into a position, that made 30$ a year, for seeing a different part of the world. Now I have my own school, and I am clearing 80$US a year. I feel really stupid right now. (So your dumb @$$ does not misunderstand, I am being sarcastic about how stupid I am)

So my guess is you do not have the slightest clue what you are talking about, and are just ranting away. Those without any thought often do such things.
