I'm new to this chat and I was wondering if anybody could help me with this translation (i study japanese at university) so that I can close the book for the day!! arggh!
I'll try anyway :

Japan makes cars, machines and electical goods with materials such as oil imported from the middle east

I know all the words it's just I can't piece them together!!!

I'd do it like this.

日本は油のような原料で車や機械や電気製品を作っている。

But then again, I'm not exactly an authority, so don't start flaming me if it's wrong or something. Also, it would help if I had a general idea of your level. Maybe you are expecting something a little more natural than this, but this is probably the most safe way to go, if you're new to this.
