Korean men are more well-known for liking subservient women. Very few young Japanese women are subservient, if you actually go to Tokyo you'll realise very few people act like that. Generally only the older generation of Japanese women act like that but oddly enough they don't complain, whenever I eat at a friends place in Japan my friend is always helping out whether they're male or female. The thing with Japan is that a number of the older generation women think 'well, he's been working all day so I should cook, clean etc' which granted if she doesn't have a job then yeah fine but if she has a job she should make the lazy bastard get off his @$$ and help. Fortunately this subservient idea is not passing down to the majority of the current generation (women in their 20s and younger), they're nice and they help out etc but they're not subservient, the guys have to get off their @$$ and do stuff as well.
