Never saw the first part of Azumi, but the second part was queer....like she was killing the guys, but at the same time, her sword is not even touching them, otherwise it's not even a fatal blow!!
Princess Blade, I didn't like this one either, it was too depressing. Plus the movie seemed to drag on. And the chick, she was not good at fighting, just got lucky only.
I dont know, I'm not really into j@p films cause they disappoint me. Specially the horror films. They just crack me up.
The first Azumi was directed by the ORIGINAL director (Ryuhei Kitamura) who knew how to make the movie look good even with the limited talent of his actors. The fights in part 1 were way more fun to watch than part 2...part 2 is total crap...After Azumi 1, Kitamura I guess sold the movie to another director and concentrated on making the final Godzilla movie (which was crap IMO

)
You should give Azumi 1 a watch and just see what you think....it's not a classic, but it's a fun film with a decent story and other elements to it. There's a totally different feel to it than part 2.
IMO....the movie "Samurai Fiction" woulda been in instant classic if all of the fights were more intense looking and better choreographed. Only the Ninja training scene looked kinda cool.
