I was just wondering what are things you would buy if you visited Japan. What things are important not to forget as a tourist in Japan.

Rare games and anime. Only the successful mainstream stuff makes it across the shores. You'd best go check out the indie stuff.

If I go I'll buy Gundam models, coz they're dirt cheap, also clothes,

Thanks for the replies. I'll go hunting for some cd's for sure caz they're super overpriced in the states. Sushi from Japan sounds good too. I hear everything in Japan is priced fairly decent in terms that you get what you pay for. Is that true or is it hella expensive?

really depends on where youre going . where are you plannng to travel? in shimonoseki, there is much fugu (blowfish). i take ferry rides there a lot because my korean hometown of Pusan has a ferry connection with them.
in tokyo and osaka its gonna be more expensive. but i found many good deals there. and the privately owned restaurants are good and decently priced.
escpecially octopus balls
and also. many of the souvenirs such as cds, figurines, etc are gonna be cheaper there than america since there will be an import tax on it. so japan still has many great deeals

yeah get a haircut there. for soem reason korean/japanese hairstyles and services (services that are specified and more popular in japan or korea) are les expensive in the motherland rather than in america.
im gonna get korean straight perm done soon. but its gonna cost me $300 bux in america as opposed to 50-100 in korea.

Oh yea, I wonder if I should get a Japanese haircut there, lol. That could be interesting...I hope they don't do anything really crazy though... I'm planning to go to Osaka and from there visit Tokyo and Kyoto for sure. This is during Christmas and New Years though. Does that change a lot? And no, I'm not going to look for panties.. -_-

I don't think its wise ask questions about Japan in this forum. AF is a very chinese-dominated forum and most Chinese are still pissed off at Japan.
Maybe go to a Japanese message board?
edit: btw, I like japan for its indie music acts. There's some good bands from Japan.

Sometime ago, I made a request to the owner of this site to make AF in to a chinese military forum but i never gotten a reply.
toki, why do you bring Korea into everything?
Don't buy toys, its a waste of money. If your not Chinese, i would suggest going to shrines or temples. The one in Kobe had a temple over-looking a garden pond, quite beautiful. I'd imagine it would look magestic in Spring with the cherry blossoms throwing their leaves at you. It had a warm cozy feeling. Quite clean too really.

wel on this thread. i did give good advice on what to buy there. and mentioned korea because of the ferry ride between kroea and japan and how kyushu has good blowfish. and talked about how asian hairstyles tend to be more expensive in america. is there somthing wrong with that?
im korean and a lot of my knowledge is from things korean. thats all
