Doesn't bother me the slightest. It's always the Filipinos I meet here in UK who mistake me for one. We just laugh it off. Unless I hear someone speak their native tongue, I don't judge people to be Malaysian/Filipino/Indonesian/Thai/Singaporean. Many of us look alike with some regional variations. I hate it when I get Malaysians and Singaporeans wrong though. A pet peeve of mine!

All my life I have never been mistaken for a Malaysian. You're (maybe) right... Malaysia is an "unseen" country in that respect. I constantly jog around parks here in LA area. And you know, about 90% of those who use the parks are Latinos... either playing soccer [like Cristiano Ronaldo] or playing baseball [like Sammy Sosa], LOL. Anyways, 100% of the time - when I approach a crowd of Latinos playing - they always speak to me in Spanish, and I cannot respond to them in Spanish... I usually say to them: "Mga pisting yawa mong tanan dili ko maka-sulti'g Español uy, Bisaya kung dako". LOL.
