There's an on-going thread entitled: "Does anyone find the term "flip" offensive?"... and this thread has not been closed or locked up. Therefore my thread with a similar title: "Does anyone find the term "prick" offensive?" should also be allowed to progress. BE FAIR.

Now, if people can call Filipinos "flips", then we Filipinos should also have all the right to call them whatever we want, such as calling Pacific Islanders as "pricks" = meaning Poor Rotten Islanders Constantly Kicked!... Right? I mean, I just want to be fair with everybody here. The golden rule says: do unto others what you want others to do unto you. In other words, if they do something offensive to us Filipinos, then it is just fair and square to call them something offensive as well. By the way, IMO - "flip" is not offensive, I mean if somebody calls me flip - I'm okay with it. Therefore, if I'm okay with being called "flip" then pacific islanders should also be okay if I call them "pricks".

Usually, it's the men who are called pricks. The word itself is offensive it's just similar to calling somebody an a-hole.

the word "prick" only becomes offensive depending on how it is also put in use
just like "flip"
i call my caucasian friends prick all the time icon_twisted.gif they take no offense
i don't know if it will be offensive to PI icon_confused.gif
let me also add that some words are not offensive to those you are already
close with..but when someone you don't normally come across calls you a prick
then you will find it offensive beerchug.gif
