they all mean the red envelop

hong bao means red pouch/bag in Cantonese

lai see depending on how you sound it can stand for "red envelopes" or can literally mean $hitting yourself

I heard this Chinese new year will be around Jan 30th because of the moon/lunar calendar. It's not always in the month of February. This is the year of dog, I believe.
