I was wondering how much you have to dish out to get a descent apartment in Tokyo (rental or owner). I'm not talking Hibia or Shinjuku central, but somewhere in the outskirts of the city.

Thanks.

my friend was 10 mins outside of tokyo. He said his dinky rental apartment was $1500/month. I do not know if it's US or cdn he was referring to.

My guess is that it was USD. It's the same as an apartment cost here pr. month. I've heard that the price level are similar, I just wanted to check.

A city called Trondheim in the middle of Norway. Good middle sized (around 80 square meters = 861.112833 square feet) apartments with one or two bedrooms will cost you around from USD 1500 pr.month and up in the center and immidate surroundings of the city core.
