http://jdorama.com/drama.959.htmBased on a true story
This story is about a girl named Aya who suffered from an incurable disease, but lived life to the fullest until her death at 25. The original story is based on the diary Aya kept writing until she could no longer hold a pen. The book that later followed entitled “One Liter of Tears" has sold over 1.1 million copies.
Aya's only wish was “to live." By carefully depicting Aya's earnest desire to live, and the love of her family, friends, and lover, the drama, “One Liter of Tears" wishes to deliver her simple but strong message: “Just being alive is such a lovely and wonderful thing."
Episode One
The drama starts right before Aya is hit with the tragic illness, called Spinocerebellar Degeneration, in which the nerve cells of areas necessary for the human body to move and balance - including the cerebellum, brain stem, and spinal cord - transforms and eventually disappears.
15-year old Aya Ikeuchi is the eldest daughter of a typical Japanese family. She lives with her cheerful and reliable mother, Shioka, father Mizuo, owner of a tofu shop, younger sisters Ako and Rika, and younger brother Hiroki.
On the day of her high school entrance exam, Aya is full of energy as she leaves the house. But she falls asleep on the bus and misses her stop. She gets off the bus and starts running in the rain, slips and falls, injuring her knee. That's when she meets Haruto Aso, who was planning to skip the exam. He gives her a ride on his bicycle to school where the exam will be given. Aya is allowed to take the exam in the school nurse's office, and manages to pass.
When the new semester begins, Aya is elected class rep. and joins the basketball team. On the boys team is someone she has eyes for, which adds to the things she has to look forward to.
Amidst her happy days at school, Aya begins to experience physical difficulties. She often drops food from her chopsticks while eating, can't pour water into a cup without spilling it, and occasionally wobbles while she walks. Aya's mother Shioka, a former nurse, is the only person that realizes these changes.
One day, Aya is about to leave home as usual. When she starts to run, she trips over her own feet and falls. She couldn't protect herself with her arms while falling, causing her to land on her face - making her bleed heavily. This injury soon reveals the existence of Aya's fateful disease.
Ryou and Naohito are hot, though

'Sekai no Chuushin de, Ai wo Sakebu' means 'Crying out with love, in the center of the world'. It's a hit novel turned movie and drama series. Quite possibly one of the best J-doramas I've ever seen. T_T It's so sad...

'Sekai no Chuushin de, Ai wo Sakebu'
there´s a nice story behind this drama
Kou Shibasaki, a popular, young and talented (and pretty (damn her (

))) actress, read the novel when it wasn´t such a hit. She loved the story and wanted to make a series of it.
After some time she wrote an essay in a popular women-magazine about how impressed she was by this wonderful sad story and how it made her cry so much.
After that a lot of people wanted to read the book and it became a hit.
And because the producers knew that Kou was popular, the novel a hit, and so they made a series.

I´m watching it right now. And one of my observations is that the female lead is a very pretty girl.
Further, It looks very professional and nice done, the male lead is hunky. The intro touched me, it has good soundtracks, the characters are very interesting and the actors do a good job.

I don´t think that´s her name
but yah, she´s very pretty.
but that´s not the point,
it´s really sad that a good-hearted girl like Aya is suffering from such a terrible disease with the death eventually, and not her lazy, nasty dumb sister.
and I´m glad the girls do not have a squeeky or high-pitched voices, rather normal and feminine.

3. Heart moving, heart breaking : a must see ! [Rating: 10/10]
The fact that this drama was based upon a real story makes this truly heart moving, even heart breaking. Honestyl, I couldn't help myself crying when watching episodes 2 & 3. I guess the rest of the series will be emotionally painful.
I also have to emphasize the fact that Sawajiri Erika's performance is exceptional. I would have never imagine she was able to perform like a true actress. Most of japanese teen actror/actress don't cry on screen (I guess they don't know how to cry on screen). But Sawajiri does. And she does pretty well : it definitely adds a true deep emotional dimension to her performance. I am very impressed, because I thought she was only one of those "teen idols" Japan produces each month, but I am glad to realize I was wrong and that she has a strong potential as an true actress.

I don't know, but jdrama don't last very long, every drama has an end. I like that. Except, for some jdrama's you don't want them to end, cause it's so beautiful or so fun.
There are 5 episodes being uploaded, I've dl them all (I'll keep seeding), but I'm gonna watch the the fifth episode right now.
How far are you?
I think this drama is very nice, sad and beautiful. I cried quite a few times, big tears. The ending is very sad too, you get to see pictures of the girl who really had the disease.
The musictheme is a pretty ballad.

u want that main theme for this song?
Zezei
Nov 16 2005, 05:40 AM
yeah, I'd like to have that main theme, if it's not a hassle.
I dl the PV, but I haven't watched it yet. I think it's called Only Human, and sung by K.
and no thanks at all, it's all give and get. I got the info from jpopsuki. I'm really thankfull to this site and d-addicts.
nice to know a GUY cried ^^.
the actors do a great job. the female lead, who's a j-idol, my age, and probably has never had acting-lessons does a great job, with her facial expressions and such, as with the other young male actor.
are you chinese or what, and what's up with the name, it similar to mine ^^.
to be honest, I love jdrama more than any other drama, cause most of them are the same like good movies but in episodes.

Just got back from the funeral.
Yamapi plays a fruity nutcase in Nobuta. The girl is cute too. I think Kame looks gay (skinny and the eyebrows

), but he acts like a man so it's all good. I couldn't stand Gokusen 2 cuz of Jin, sorry to all the fans but his girly/sexy acting annoyed me...well I deleted that drama.
I have stand up! cute movie...yamapi's character is stiff like a log in there. it was my first jdorama and he caught my attention. now i have four movies with him in it
don't I make chopstick sound gay by talking about japanese pretty boys? haha.

but yeah, Kame looks too 'made' for me, whereas Yamapi looks very natural and goodlooking to me. Yeah, they act like guys, so it's cool. But skinny isn't too bad, but I rather have slender. And Kame's eyebrows were a bit too much. I like Yamapi's eyebrows. Goes very well with his face.
I never finished Gokusen 2, but I did like the first Gokusen very much. But both had quite some cute actors in it.
I thought MatsuJun had a more convincing role than Jin.
