The current Emperor and Empress are good people. Akihito is NOTHING like his father Hirohito. He is always doing humanitarian events in Japan for the physicall and mentally incapacitated. 
Most Japanese were Koreans 2300 to 1750 years ago. And Korean influence has trickled into Japan in plenty since then. That's not to say that the Japanese have their own unique culture, but denying the historical link between Japan and Korea (and the rest of East Asia) is like denying the historical link between the USA and Western Europe. Who knows, in 1500 years, maybe the Americans (assuming they are still majority of European descent) will say that they were native to North America.
Anyway, kudos to Emperor Akihito.
