I was just wondering if Japan has regional stereotypes.

Like if a person is from a certain region, there's a negative or positive stigma and a generalization that comes packaged with that person.

Like generally??

Tokyo People well is very diverse, it's huge so there isn't a general stereotype.

Kyoto people are very very nice.

^ no general stereotype? Those people are all whores. To make it worse japanese are all stereotyped as being from tokyo. When ever something happens it tokyo japanese. They dont really show what happens in any of the other provinces only what happens in degenerate tokyo.

A Japanese-American friend of mine once talked about Japanese stereotypes of people from Osaka, but I didn't understand it. icon_sad.gif

man... What do you have against us Tokyo people? Tho not really Tokyo.. Saitama actually.

DaMo: basically anyone outside of the metropolitan cites of Japan get stereotyped. My mother's Iwate is stereotyped as being full of simple country folk, with their horses, rolling hills, beaches and forests. Osakans are chided at for their accent. Thats about it for Osaka, never been there for long actually.

Hiroki, does this mean that cities like Saitama was the basis of the stereotype about the Japanese being europhiles?
