I have been reading about srivijaya(late 10th to early 11th century) a lot and have come across this weird co-incidence.

There is this one udayatitya varmadeva(960-?) who is in the list of srivijayan(sailendra?) rulers.
And there is this Udayatitya varma I(1001) in yasothapura throne right before suryavarman I.

Are these two guys the same?

The udayatitya varma of kambuja is supposed to be the nephew of king jeyavarman who came to reign after JV's demise and yet for a short period of time before which suryavarma fought with jeyaveravarmann came to throne. Does this mean that the throne was for taking between the later two until which time udayatityavarma was merely incharge?
Could this guy have been the srivijayan overlord of kedah whose lineage bore the more famous chulamanivarmadeva and sangrama vijayotungavarma?
any ideas please share...

There is no co-incident here, Chenla was under Srivijaya at Chaiya.

Kings of Angkor like Suriyavarman I, Jayavarman II, etc. were from Srivijaya in southern Thailand.

Indravarman III was from Sukhothai.

You will find that the history you've learned are all fake.

According to the Stone Inscription: Angkorian leader rule all over the ancient Cambodia. They are quite independent and they rule behalf of the King in Angkor but those ruler are from the same blood line (a mixture of Samvong and Suryvong dynasty).
That why you can find Ancient Khmer inscription in Southern Thailand but writing in difference script (Tamil) and central use Pavala script.

Remember: If you want to study Khmer History, you have to study the bas-relief as well. Even though our written account have been destroy in war but bas-relief still can answer us.. some foreigners scholar trying to explain those in Hindu way but those are just external look only. If you look deeply you will see something quite difference which is answer why Khmer and Indian are completely difference... with the name of the place and it hidden meaning... our Khmer tradition and songs, games are the quiz for us to find the answer about our Great Preah Neang Neak who consider as the Mother of our Khmer people. in 1998 Graham Hancock have come to Cambodia to seeking for the answer about Angkor: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGeUBxZSBSI watching this documentary you will understand how we use Hindu myth to support us in order to build our civilization.

I couldn't answer you about what you have found yet.. but it is great that you interested in our history. It need me a little bit time to study all those Kings name. But I think they probably not the same people. Anyways just keep in mind that to look at one side is not enough to understand this.. you have to look more deeply and all corner.. and keep your mind free.., I am sure you will be found something very extraordinary... Leeporter, I read your thread. Thanks a lot for leading me to the thread. It was rather a little deep for me.
No offense, but sadly most part of that really good thread was wasted on racist arguements. I could see people trying to come with unbiased information when someone comes up and spews it with racist *****. For a third person like me who is new to all of this, it only increases the confusion.

With people who are this deep in knowledge with something, I only wished it to be a more healthy conversation.

But then again the answer for my question was still not answered fully(or I missed it )

So I ask now to all,

If Udayatitya varma I was a srivijayan king who came from chaiya or kedah to khmer, then why is he the first varma ruler in srivijaya in such a long time, whilst the kambuja already had a list of varmans in this timeperiod. As a matter of fact even champa had varman rulers but srivijaya, then suddenly a udayatitya varma comes in srivijaya to continue the varma lineage after a long pause in dharmasetu clan(lingavarman grandfather of dharma setu).
Was he a srivijayan+khmer product?

Khmer was in control of srivijaya from the time of dharmasetu until jeyavarman. So is it possible to have this khmer varmans to closely be related with their srivijayan counterparts even from that time ? (its only natural to marry the conquered country's princess).

Or was he an offspring of a srivijayan princess and khmer prince(who already had a varma tag?)?did he being a srivijayan+khmer offspring simply came from khmer to srivijaya for the want of heirloom at that time? that again confuses me.

If that is the case then a srivijayan offspring from palempang or jambi should hold the right before a malay prince as per the normal beliefs- which here again confirms that the authority was already pulled over to malay peninsula from palempang in this time period.

Who filled the gap between Balaputradeva and udayatitya varma(856-960) in srivijayan throne?

I know I have asked a s*** load of questions and that too on srivijaya rather than khmer. what I asked might look like some stupid basic questions , but please consider that I am a foreigner who is trying to find a way through this.
