Buddha is not a god.

No such thing as god, end of story.

There are those who claim to know, but let's be honest, no one knows for sure.

Why? Because there are some things left without explanation. Norse mythology said Tor was the one who created storms and lightning by knocking his hammer about. Now we all know that's not true, but this was before science and meteorology.

Well you dont know for sure that there are no flying pigs. These statements are unfalsfiable. Unfalsifiable arguments are NOT arguments...They are most likely human imagination or lies. I could make the claim that the universe is ruled by Flying spaghetti---and no one could disprove it.

The scientific method has it that the absence of evidence is the evidence of abscence.

Sorry, what I meant by that statement was that no one knows how the universe was created, not by whom. Apparently, I didn't read the initial post good enough.

the more we understand the world, the less we have to rely on mythicism to fill in the gaps

^See? Commies are not as crazy as you think.
Dented Pharmer
that's true...

Also, just because you couple unfalsifiable statements with historical facts, that does not lend validity to the statements.
