all my relatives tell me they are real and they tell me stories about these things
I keep telling them that it's total bs but then when my grandparents tell me they are real I can't exactly call them liars
I would look this up on the internet but I have trouble finding information about them

"An Aswang (or Asuwang) is a ghoul in Filipino folklore. The myth of the aswang is popular in the Western Visayan regions such as Capiz, Iloilo and Antique. The trademark or major feature of Aswangs which distinguish them from other Filipino mythological creatures is their propensity to replace stolen cadavers with the trunk of a banana tree carved in the cadaver's likeness. They are also said to like to eat small children. Their favorite body parts are the liver and heart. Other local names, especially in Capiz are
tik-tik and wak-wak."
 in mindanoa that ment something else....it was used to tease someone who was uncircumcised.

In Malaysia, we have a similar ghost called the pontianak, a pregnant mother who is killed and return from the dead to seek revenge, they feed on the blood from women who give birts, the placenta and foetuses whenever possible. Malay women would usually put a bag of pins or thorny plants at the windows or put a kife or nail under their pillows o ward off pontianak coz pontianak have entrails outside their bidy and afraid the entrails get stuck to thorns.
Another type of Malay ghosi is the penanggal pontianak, people who use black magic could become a 'penanggal' pontianak, where during the night , their heads leaves the body and flies in search of blood. The pontianak is so sewn into malaysian society that even the Malaysian Chinese and indians adopt it as their own ghost and claim to have seen pontianak though its a Malay ghost, and they even have their own way of warding off pontianak. Many malays till today still practice the tradition of putting pins under pillows of new borns, my mom did, to ward off pontianaks. The Thais have also similar ghost. There must some truth in this matter, these kind of ghost is in every culture in Asia and Europe.

These are some pics of pontianak. Usually women in white gown and they smell of frangipani flower.

They also come out during day, but they become weak and we cannot see them, some say the mingle with ordinary people as midwives, so that they collect the dirty blood from deliveries for food.

^^arrg...do you believe in these pontianak?
apparently my grandma and grandpa would like always light fires to create smoke under the house during when their children were still babies. when I was a baby back in the philippines my parents use to put up garlic on all the windows whenever I got sick
oh and I just wanna say that the picture looks very fake(I apologize if it is real)

^Of course its fake.Just wanna give impression on what pontianak looks like.
Yep...I do beleieve in them... i ave encountered beings from the otherworld before..several times that i had to seek help from a Malay Shaman..so .yeah..i do believe in ghosts and demons. I ave also a family member who practice Malay magic..i once saw him being posessed..crazy like horse. About the pontianak...its sightings are frequently reported in Malaysian newspapers and magazines...its part of Malay...for example..u will see Malays hanging verses of Koran on nearly every door of the house..why they do that?..they say to keep ghosts out..especially Pontianak.
There used to be a high profile case near one of our Universities during 70's..UKM. A girl, during the night was saw abeing dragged by a person in white clothes towards the forest. The Uni police searched for her and found her near a cemetary, her body ave no blood and bone dry......so mysterios is the case that the Uni force all the witnesses to sign and swear not to tell people about it. The story broke out several years later but police refuse to comment. People still talk about this case..i heard first heard this story when i first enter college. This story is supposedly told to every Uni student in Malaysia. It is the Pontianak!!.

the famous one in my place were segben, Which is a demonic animal that is also a shapeshifter, like other aswangs, this creature also eat babies inside the mother's wombs, most of them kill puppies every night...This is the only demon creature that has its face on its rear and usually walks backwards, it also has a very long tongue..the only way to wound kill these creature is by the use of "Pagi" or stingrays's tail using it as a whip on the creatures shadow...
this creature is very dangerous, but there are other demon creatures that are not really, some of them are only mischievious and they usually live in thick forest and mangroves...Like the Tikbalang (my favorite) which is a horse-demon..they play a very good pranks, expecially to strangers walking in the woods at night, they enjoy scaring people.. and Kapre, a hairy ogre-like creature...they can be usually seen at the top a big trees at night, smoking their cigars...
